Most games work P2P (surprise), the dedicated servers, when they exist, are paid for and setup by the publishers (surprise #2).

At 650+ euros, it wont sell in Europe, at all. Ok maybe the most rabid fanboys will buy it. Otherwise fuck no. FFS from what I've heard PS4 will launch in EU at 399 euro. So XBone will be more than 50% more expensive. Not going to happen. Outside of Eagleland Xbone is dead. Additional hilarity that even at those prices Sony will earn a tiny bit on each console sold, with 50-80% stronger GPU than Xbone has. Kinect price tag plus all the Murkan sports TV licensing fees are killing Xbone.

Agreed. I'm just stating that it's not a sure thing yet. They currently enjoy the favor of a rabid install base, IF they play their cards rights, they might just get away with it.

Even if their marketing strategy continues to suck, the right game will bring most of the morons back into the fold, since despite their constant whining about DRM they lap that shit up if there's hype behind a title.

 

After Saint Steve died was called back to the Father, the reality distortion field isn't working anymore as it should. I think Apple will slowly slide back into irrelevance; Steve's strategy was to steal some ideas innovate, enter a new market with a disrupting business approach and milk it dry till the competitors caught up.

With the iPhone and iPads not being so 'hot news' anymore, the next iTurd is nowhere to be seen.

 

Well, when Apple started with the Iphone, there was nothing like that on the market. They were the first to sell a 'true' smartphone. With the upcoming consoles, you can choose between XboxOne or PS4. Seeing how Microsoft is fucking over their customers, I think if I'll ever buy a console, it'll be a PS4 no doubts about it.

 

Nothing like that on the market? Symbian based phones had long been in use, they just lacked the simplicity a store like iTunes was able to supply to the unwashed masses. Oh, and gloss, obviously.

 

Both are still cheaper than an iPad.

 

Big part of why Apple's iPhones became so succesful is that they were much more userfriendly and had much better UI than any other phone on the market. Nokia's phones had utterly horrible UI and masses bought it because there wasn't competition. Android-phones has again leveled the playing field and Apple's crap won't be overwheling like it was after Nokia plummeted.

Apple managed to gain brainwash very vocal and very loyal following who will buy their products gladly whore themselves for Apple and I don't think it'll change any time soon but not sure are those enough for Apple.

 

Well, the Nokia 7710 debuted in 2004 and was every bit as good (if not better) than the iPhone; the UI wasn't bad either (it didn't reach the same level of retardness user friendliness however). The LG Prada was contemporary of the iPhone and it was also a very good product, yet the media and the 'casual' tech hippies flocked in droves to Apple portable phone as if it was a revolutionary, never seen before device.

 

Apple sold on "COOL" factor, not functionality...

And Apple got marketing just right to get their target audience to throw money at them and I seem to remember that Nokia failed more and less miserably. Nokia was already seen as unsexy by the younger people idiots and Apple came with "Hey ho kids! We R Kool too!" marketing. I think Steve Saint saw the missing element from the mobile phones/market and latched onto it, also their reputation with hipsters and the like didn't hurt either.

 

But actually higher-end Android tablets aren't much cheaper than iPad while being a clusterfuck which is even more shit.

All of the decent games that arent complete turds are iOS exclusive too.
