So, World of Tanks, I play it, here's some criticism.

I prefer to linger on level, where my tanks are still profitable, or at least break even. I don't want to "work" in game for being able to play 9-10 levels.

baturinsky I was butthurt in beta that soviet 122mm shells cost 1000 credits, and I'm butthurt now that they still do. Makes running the KV-1s and up very challenging without premium.

Not sure, it was pretty strong in 8.5 though and gave my M4 some trouble. Good armor and HP, mobile...small'ish gun though. I've been tempted to try it as it's one of the best performing T4s.

 

It's very tough when it's top tier, and it's top gun has excellent accuracy and penetration, with good DPS at the cost of weak alpha. That's not such an issue though since you can't exactly hide to reload anyway and your strong armour can bounce shells while you lay the damage on. It's unimposing size leads players to underestimate you I feel, as opposed to the KV which is a real shell magnet.

Being bottom tier sucks because you are so slow but at least with your penetration and accuracy you can still be a decent support gun.

 

Tier 3 Arty OP

or the map is just good for arty and the enemy was fucking retarded

 

with this xp in "da old days" u wouldynt even get that worst bottom star so ...

 

I find playing arty incredibly dull in this game. Or any tank that doesn't keep me moving about and active. I like brawlers and flankers.


EDIT: Now that I'm getting into T6/7 battles more often it seems like 3/4 of the tanks people run are heavies? Does this trend continue from here on?

 

Taking out 5 tanks with tier 3 arty is incredibly hard. I dont give a shit about that stupid star.
Also arty is dull as shit yes

edit: hard as in rolling a dice to get the same number 5 times.. its not like arty takes any real skill. At least at this level

No I havent. But ive only ever seen artillery at this level take out 5 once before on province.

and yes 5 kills "was" normal and yes "rng" was factor even back then but u could compensate a little for it... now with recticle for half my screen with full zoom out i laugh fire and roll my luck ... and fuckers still cry for mumy when i hit them with splash one in 10 shots.... moronic siting still inbreds that they are

 

Dull? You can murder things all over the map with arty! It's more annoying, than dull. With all that bastards not wanting to crawl out of their holes, or starting to move at exact moment you shoot.

Also, try to get a position in some other place than base. Then you'll be able to shoot at places you could not before.

 

The main problem with arty is you spend 20 seconds aiming, then fire and the bastard moves during your shells travel time, even though he's been holding still until the exact moment you shoot. Then you have a 30+ second reload time...

 

The best thing about artillery is smacking that cocky scout right in the face when he was trying to come up your arse. Win, lose, matters little when you've eaten your natural predator

Old arty was way more interesting. It actually forced tanks to seek cover and reposition after firing. Nu-Arty™ matches - if there's even any arty at all - tend to devolve into boring campfests.

 

World of Warplanes is in open beta now. I tried it. Not my cup of tea, too twitchy. But if you can into fly sims...

 

The M2 Medium and M3 Lee are the shittiest tanks I ever had the displeasure to drive.
