    Damn this looks amazing.

I hope that even if nothing else comes out from this lawsuit threat and Escapist magazin, it spooks Chris Roberts and he takes measures to pull their shit together.

What I found funny in that article was this
Game was set to be released in nov 2014, they changed TOS to give money back to backers if the game isnt released 12 months after the set date. Now its 18 months and they have time till May 2016. And when May comes along they'll probably change it to 36 months.
I dont see the game being released in 2020 when you calculate how little of those $90 mil ended up into actual game development.

Still, a nice internet drama to read about. This is gonna be a bigger crash than Kingdoms of Amalur was, they managed to burn $133 mil for a shit game but atleast they released it.
I have no doubt that Chris gonna manage to con another 40-50 mil from the whales till he takes the little money that was left and runs.

    That destruction looks amazing.

Best part of that is that it is system based not like in other space games where ships are pre scripted to be destroyed in certain ways.

Also looks like most parts of ships will be destructible, meaning that you can shoot off whole parts off ships.

I don't know if all of that money went into Amalur. A good part of it went into the failed MMO.

  6. One thing I'm curious about is how much really did SC bring in, those numbers of dollas amassed through their own platform sure seem a bit too fantastic for my taste. Nobody somehow questions those figures.

Liar, you would use it to buy a night with Emma on a yacht off the coast of Monaco.

number of citizens is nonsense, its registered accounts not backers. there are thousands of duplicates also.

too late for this game, they couldnt possibly deliver half of what they promised. so they need to ditch enitre sections, like only SQ42 or only PU. singel player campaign with a small FPS addition is maybe doable. or they can continue with everything and file for bankruptcy later on, saying "well atleast we tried"

the social module that is suppose to show progress is just a fucking cryengine map (like the hanger), cant even interact with the environment. any good programmer with an artist buddy could have done that eventually.

Yeah that's the thing. Hasn't SC ruined a couple of marriages because guys with low impulse control sank their family's life savings into it? If Roberts doesn't deliver someone might actually kill him. It better be the best game ever or else he's going to be looking over his shoulder for the rest of his life.

I'm sure he has about $500,000 in private security... paid for by backer funds, ofc.

Roberts said numerous times that he knows that there is no sound in space and that he doesn't give a fuck.
And what retard would want to blow shit up and while that cool explosions ensue he would hear a strayed fly buzzing around his cockpit?

Actually having a setting in the options "in space nobody can hear you scream" would be the easiest way to satisfy everybody.

One of actors in SQ42 "spoiled" the reveal himself:

    Show Spoiler

It's Jack Huston (e.g. Richard Harrow in Boardwalk Empire).

Yeah, that would actually be a pretty good and easy solution. Just have a seperate volume slider for out of cockpit sound effects.

I never got those "in space there is no sound" arguments. One would think that the technology is advanced enough for the onboard audio system to artificially generate appropriate sounds to help the pilot get a better grasp on what's happening around him. We even have that in cars already: http://www.cnet.com/news/bmw-m5-generates-fake-engine-noise-using-stereo/
