    Glavius AI mod.

Without it the AI is basically worthless and zero challenge.

Is the good build out yet? The one fixing performance when gates open up?

Settled for just Glavius AI, seems there aren't many mods for 2.2.4.

    Got back on this game.

I think the AI needs to get more aggressive and opportunistic. Its bizarre to border an AI with Overwhelming Fleets and Economy and Superior Tech, and not get rushed. A fucking Devouring Swarm can only sit there and keep insulting me because I have two 2k Starbases on its two paths to my domains. Then agian, it was kind of busy battering another pretty strong civilization.

    How to prevent Ai attacks:

    1. Build chokepoint Starbase.

    2. Fortify it to about 1k or so. Should make the AI leave you alone for decades. Add more fortification if the AI is insulting you or doing more claims.

Yeah 2.2.4 is out. I noticed a good performance enhancement, but it needs more.

Also 2.2.5 beta is bugged right now. The AI is building fuckloads of precincts again.

Should AI breach your chokepoint you are in real trouble. A lot of players overrely on starbase defences but once they fail, they tend to collapse. If starbase with defense platforms aredestroyed then once you capture it it will not have buffer of platforms, which are super-expensive.

1k starbase is a joke, you're just throwing away resources on useless defense platforms. Spend the money on corvettes.

If any AI declares war on you, get an Admiral with Trickster, engage enemy while he's attacking a regular outpost (absorbs a lot of fire and does some damage), and emergency FTL away with almost zero losses. Repair, re-engage enemy again because the AI doesn't understand how to repair, and either emergency FTL out again or wipe them out. Repair again, push forward, now the AI can't produce a fleet that threatens you. AI is losing ships, you are taking minimal losses, you keep building up as he has to replace his losses, and with the crap AI decision making he still can't do it effectively.

This still works on latest patch on Grand Admiral. I've literally never lost a war to the AI. Trickster corvettes are ludicrously OP in the early game.

Starbases >>> Corvettes early on, less upkeep. Just plop them on your chokes and the AI can do nothing but shake its fist in impotency.

This is 2.2.4 Glavius + Grand Admiral, btw.

I don't have enough computer to run more and more mods.

Know anything that helps with performance?

Btw, does Stellaris have a limit of n# of music tracks? Because I swear I added the SGC songs and the X-COM Apocalypse tracks disappeared.

sometimes music mods are not compatible with each other. pretty often actually, at least that's my experience, i've rarely been able to have two working together.

about performance, also i can't help much: it's crap and it's always going to be crap.

Supposedly the new beta fixes performance, but it also breaks the AI such that they fill all of their capitals with police buildings.

I started a game these days with a Megacorp and wow, Megacorps are great. Its 2290 and I'm blazing through the tech tree and getting mad cash.

    Its a Paradox game.

    It will be good.
Emphasis on will, as in future verb.

Right now, Megacorp is more or less how it should have been last year. The mechanics are good, but the technical side is hurting.

2.2.6 is going to be the last patch they will release until the next DLC, but they made clear on Pdox Plaza that next DLC will be pretty much made to allow them to devote themselves to fixing the game further. Like they already did before, its def gonna be a story pack like Distant Stars or Synthetic Dawn. I don't mind, as long as they fix the game.

Fans are pissed since the horrible Megacorp release, Stellaris got review-bombed on Steam.

But how are they going to fix this crap, short of rewriting the engine? I am not seeing it.

Edit: Patch upon patch upon patch and it's still the same boring, stuttering mess.
