Actually I wonder if Microsoft can save them from this... thing, so they can keep making arcade games and MS will have more diverse catalog in their Game Pass.

3rd person with large fov, really? Either get the polycount up for fps or drop the fov. Looks like a pre360 xbox game with deeply flawed design.

They have put this game and other projects on hold to focus on their "most ambitious and biggest game". Now they have around 80 people: https://housemarque.com/news/2020/1/22/letter-to-fans-celebrating-25th-anniversary-in-2020

So now we are focused on delivering our most ambitious and biggest game to date, putting every other project on hold, including the development of Stormdivers. It is great that the whole company can come together to deliver this game, which will define the next evolution of Housemarque. We are very humbled to have amazing support from our partner over the course of the past few years, and this support has continuously grown on a monthly basis.

In closing, Housemarque is very excited to celebrate our 25th Anniversary this Summer, and we are confident that we will pleasantly surprise our fans with the new game. We are eagerly awaiting the day we can announce it. At the same time, it is always nerve-wracking to anticipate what your reaction will be when we do finally complete development and the game is out for everyone to enjoy. We’ve never delivered anything at this scale before. The time is drawing ever closer when our publishing partner will reveal what we are working on, with the launch coming after that. This year will be full of exciting surprises, and we can’t wait to experience them with all of you!

Shame, i've had Nex Machina for quite a while and tend to love arcade style games but...they're niche and no one seems to know how to market them or say how they should be played to casual gamers or new generations, it's bad that the closest things that became popular are mobile games like endless runners, games with a ton of Ads and app purchases.

Also, wasn't Nex Machina the game of the year for Yoko Taro, the guy behind Nier:Automata?

I seem to recall an interview where they asked which games he was playing or loved, with the interviewer probably expecting the guy to say some story-driven game or him saying normal games don't do anything for him, and he blasts off with Nex Machina and gushes about the game with nothing bad to say about it, Housemarque should have done an Ad with that, at least put it into the pages on stores.

"Nex Machina, this game is so good that the guy behind the popular game Nier:Automata freaking loves it"
