Storm Eagle Studios™ is missing the ™ in both instances in the first paragraph, please correct this.

 

So... Steam for ... ship simulations made by ONE developer?
Okay...

 

BTW here's a quote from an e-mail ad they send, this time without any modifications:

Did they register STORMPOWERED and STORMPOWERED™ or did they register STORMPOWERED and ™ sign? The latter would have huge consequences. Practically anyone who owns any trademark would have to pay them fees for claiming so!

 

Or, you know, challenge the trademark.

To be honest, I'm not sure that Stormpowered would hold up as a trademark if challenged - I can see why they've gone all caps, it's so they can argue that they aren't just using an ordinary word, so that if the court say that 'stormpowered' can't be enforced, STORMPOWERED is clearly a corporate logo rather than an attempt to monopolise language.

A fuckload of IP just rests on the mutual benefit of having easily distinguishable names anyway - a 3rd-rate knockoff might benefit from fooling customers, but a sustainable/serious business player won't. If you had to prove legal enforceability before registering, there'd be a lot less 'TMs' floating about.

 

So when do we get STORMFRONTED™ for exclusive access to /GD?
