The average player spent like $3 on it. It doesn't make me particularly happy that a nice guy like you spent four times as much.

I won't be surprised if one day MRY will start advocating for piracy of his games.

Well, whenever I see links posted to piracy links, I just advise people to use good digital hygiene. Honestly, whatever Primordia is worth, avoiding a virus is almost certainly worth $10, which seems like the main reason not to pirate it. The original Russian translators were an adjunct to a Russian piracy group, and I said the same thing to them while sharing the link to their translation. :D

I've explained my views on piracy previously with respect to the Talos Principle's copy protection scheme. Spoiler to avoid flooding the thread:

I haven't kept up-to-date on whether piracy has stopped being a virus vector. :( Why else would random spambots on Twitter offer hot links to Primordia if not to send malware?

Better torrent trackers are somewhat closed communities based on trust and availability. When someone talks about piracy and malware being linked in the current year then he either hasn't downloaded anything ever or he is bullshiting you.

It's Twitter, people would send nudes of their own mother for retweets and followers.

I replayed it a couple of weeks ago. Quite enjoyed it still, though if we're gonna compare, Primordia is much "tighter". Technobabylon is bigger (which is a nice thing on its own I guess) but it doesn't pack the same punch.

Still a very good advenure game.

Cheers for posting. I really enjoyed Technobabylon, not perfect and with flaws as some of the early posts highlught, but just a really absorbing, fun game with many scenarios that felt fresh & interesting.

I've never even heard of Primordia though, so gonna buy it now. Amazes me how games like these are so burried beneath overhyped AAA trash.

Clearly I need to go back to putting Primordia in my signature. :D

I prefer not to do comparisons to other WEG titles. I haven't had a chance to play Technobabylon much (I gave some feedback to Dave and James early in its development, but otherwise haven't checked it out), but it seems like a pretty extraordinary game, and I know lots of people enjoy its take on popular political topics like hacktivism, gender issues, etc.
