Kickstarter Update #24 - Factions, Challenges & Updated FAQ
Hello to our Backers!
We've been regularly making
weekly updates over on our forums - but I wanted to highlight some of the key points since our last official update.
Factions Screen & Interface Updates
We are extremely happy with the way the user interface is shaping up. We were worried about how
cluttered and information heavy the map and individual screens appeared during some of our earlier tests so we've been working hard to make sure the screens are both visually appealing and the information freely and logically flows so you can retain or gain information
at a glance.

This faction screen hints at how your Agents conduct diplomacy with the various unearthly creatures of the game. The
Mi-Go are, I believe, the third faction race we've mentioned and, like the others, have unique mechanics.
The Mi-Go aren't your competition, they have their own bizarre motivation but you may be able to leverage them to your advantage. Mi-Go perform two interesting actions in the world, one is that they launch
Expeditions to recover very particular artifacts that concern them from the
Age of Damnation and the other is that they grow "
Fascinated" with interesting people - if their fascination grows strong enough they may begin to talk with that person and this opens up unique dialogues and events for the player.
We'll continue to show off more factions and faction specifics as we get closer to release.
Title Screen & Scenario Select
We've also made improvements to both our main title screen as well as the scenario select screen - both feature some of the incredible images our talented artists have been creating for us.
Scenario Select

Fairly basic stuff - but compared to our
original Title Screen you can see how we've vastly improved the presentation and level of polish.
Challenge Screens

This image shows how we've begun to integrate districts into the Challenge screen. We wanted an element in each instance that shows the unique and varied areas that an agent can infiltrate and begin influencing.
- The Village district contains the basic tasks you'd expect to perform ranging from interacting with the locals to working your agenda in with the local mayor.
- The Outskirts is generally where you'd find some of the more dangerous dynamic elements, and will generally have few actions. Here we have the ability corrupt a local hermit, always a fun time.
- Special Districts - In this case there are woods that have a special Order that you can infiltrate. your actions will vary depending on the Order and your standing, if any, with it. It also looks like an Orc and Goblin tribe is fighting. Unless an Overlord is present in a POI most hostile Modifiers in the same district will battle each other until one is defeated. Feel free to intervene and choose which will survive and flourish, or perhaps encourage the chaos to spill over into the village itself.
Any other ongoing modifiers/events/rituals that can be interacted with will be displayed in this screen, anything that cannot be interacted with will only show in the POI (not challenge) screen. Clicking on the Village will open the POI screen for the village, and of course
everything has a tooltip.
Updated FAQ
We finally got around to pointing the FAQ to the proper link - you can find it
HERE - this FAQ is almost entirely community generated and a huge thank you to Sean for helping to update and maintain this.
Final Thoughts (for now)
Things are going much slower than we had initially hoped, but the game looks better and better with each passing week - our excitement is at an all time high and our focus remains on releasing the Mod Tools and Beta as soon as humanly possible. We will give more concrete details on Beta and release as we draw closer.
With love,
The KDGs
