Playing this now. Roughly halfway through the doctor's story. It really nails the homage aspect to the original, no doubt about it. The game isn't perfect, but the "this is for 7th Guest fans" aspect is perfect, if that makes sense. It's a little harder to figure out the goal of the puzzles than it was in the original to my memory, but then again it would be nearly impossible to really compare since I've known the goal of 7th Guest's puzzles for 20+ years. Still, when you get a puzzle that says "make words of these letters" it's hard to guess that you only have to make short words out of a long string, rather than make them all into a word, for example. Loyal to the original or not, I wish that were better explained (DUMBED DOWN NOOB GET GUD!). I also wish there was a way to make it control like the original, for easier one-handed play, though holding right-mouse to move forward works well enough since it isn't a shooter.

Anyway... if you're a 7th Guest fan who's hesitating or letting it sit in your backlog, I recommend giving it a go. It's about as loyal a revival as there is out there.
