"This message is awaiting moderator approval": All new users must pass through our moderation queue before they will be able to post normally. Until your account has "passed" your posts will only be visible to yourself (and moderators) until they are approved. Give us a week to get around to approving / deleting / ignoring your mundane opinion on crap before hassling us about it. Once you have passed the moderation period (think of it as a test), you will be able to post normally, just like all the other retards.

Strap Yourselves In Serpent in the Staglands Shadorwun: Hong Kong Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag. Pathfinder: Wrath I'm very into cock and ball torture I helped put crap in Monomyth
I've looked at the threads of the Codex's past and have not been impressed by them.
Didn't realise making you the Steam Curator also made you Post Curator.
It's basically a bunch of one-liners, the sort of which just goes directly to Shoutbox these days. Those threads aren't as necessary anymore because we have Shoutbox and other outlets.
Like seriously dude, how many of those buggers even use the Shoutbox.

I like the new Codex, which is (or at least, should be) defined by the ability to say things like "Man, this game's combat system must have been designed for CASUAL FAGGOTS because X" or "This game's story FUCKING SUCKS because Y", where X and Y are lengthy, insightful explanations.
Except anybody who's so inclined to give lengthy explanations is gonna do it anyway, no one stopped that shit ever.

Fuck off if it were up to you Roxors 'ridiculous' Pillars review would never have been published which does exactly that.

Jeez, is this the day you ascend to godhood or something? The amount of self important bullshit you're spewing per sentence is astounding.

Wasn't the whole point behind being able to ignore people that you could decide for yourself who is and who isn't a shitposter?

Worrying about derailment, giving people tags etc seems to have more to do with how the codex is perceived by the outside world than the users. Poor MCA doesn't have an ignore list so is exposed to all kinds of stuff that horrifies him and sees stupid posts by users who he could possibly consider to be valued members of the codex community because there's no tag saying they aren't, so he'll never come to the codex, sad emoticon.

I've been out of the loop for a while, what's going on? Did codex go full rpg.net or something?

There's either been a prank by the administration where Politics has briefly become a safe place where the most egregious racist content is getting deleted, and the mods laugh at users for thinking this was a permanent change, or there's been a meta-prank where politics actually has become a safe space where the most egregious racist content is getting deleted and the mods are laughing at people for thinking it's really just a prank.

I remember when codex threads would get deraild a dozen times in their lifetime. With your policy this generation will never know what's a memorable thread

"Man the codex sucked before INFI came along" - fucking nobody

Infinijew wants you to post walls of text. His sole reason for being here is so he can copypaste shit into the news section, and oneliners are no good for that. Now go do his bidding peasant.

For every jcd, hivemind, tyranosaurus rex and such, we also got a felipepepe, deucetraveller, Llama-Yak Hybrid, vaultdweller and dozens of indie developers who actually add really valuable insight about rpgs to this page

Fix'd it a little.

I still don't understand what's the problem with internet nazis, necros, short 2-3 post long derails that got preventively retardoed, people disagreeing with established consensus etc. etc. etc.

Okay, I see it now.

I am normally very distant from the "all moderators are bastards, down with the man, power to teh people" plebs, but the control-freakishness of certain individuals by now must warrant medical intervention. Anyone willing to wade into hundreds of hundred-page threads and shuffle and merge and move around messages needs help. If you are so obsessed with keeping something immaculate and clean, get a job as a janitor in McDonalds.

They are a problem for people who are so butthurt and sensitive about "wrong opinions" that even the ability to create their own custom safe space with ignore function is not enough. And staff members who want to make this site's image friendlier and less offensive for shilling purposes.

[Lore] Isn't this how the Codex got started in the first place?

I mean, the tale is lost to the mists of time but didn't a few brave souls break away from NMA when some shitmod(s) "wanted it to be more professional", "stop scaring away developers" and basically make it a safe space back in Anciente Tymes when "social networking" meant actually fucking talking to people, and "triggered" was something you did to a trap in a game, usually an RPG?

To me, the Codex has always been uncompromising. It did not compromise with Bethesda. It did not compromise with Bioware. To suggest that it should begin being purged in order to be more "appealing" and "professional" is a heresy of the highest order.

We might as well get rid of the tagline "Doesn't scale to your level" for claiming that we are uncompromising still would be a lie. Amd now you wish to lower our high ideals in order to make ourselves more appealing, more open to devs posting. The Codex did not scale to Gaider's level when he left. It did not scale to the Beth dev's level when they left. We should not scale to any of these devs that Infinitron so wishes to befriend.

Remove all mods who seek to implement level scaling on the Codex!
