Do you like Civ and dystopian futures? This guy has been playing the same game of civilization for 10 years straight. The game is now locked in a war that has lasted more than a thousand years, natural resources are completely expended, the world is bleak and cities are struggling to conserve any kind of food at all. Engineers have to build roads for the war effort and there is no time for land improvement or cleaning up pollution.

    The Decade Long Civilization Game

    It's a pretty cool experiment :)

I think I'd get pretty bored after researching Future Tech 74596 and still only having the same boring units as a thousand years ago...

Usually at the point I'm researching Future tech in a single-player Civ game the only reason I didn't get a Conquest or Domination victory is because I decided to let the remnants of AI Civs survive to get a more interesting victory type. I remember getting pissed off with Persia in a game because of their stupid declaration of war, and tired of the game, I just nuked them, and nobody raised a finger because nobody else had access to nukes and ICBMs.

Right now I can't bother playing any Civ game at singleplayer.

Shit player but interesting narrative. :4/5:

Research to 0%, there's nothing left to research anyway. Forget the promise of future technology, for so much has been lost, never to be recovered. In the grim darkness of 3991 A.D. there is only war.
Revolution to fundamentalism -> no unhappy pop -> no guerilla heretics. More money, better army suport per city.
Force stalemate by hunkering down in defensible position, as defined in the codex tactics set fort buy Guilliman.
    Repair core territories with enginseers.
Build up critical mass to completely eradicate one opponent with synchronized spy nukes exterminatus from the black ships of the inquisition all the way to his capital, mop up with conventional army doom stack of howitzers imperial guardsmen.
    Repeat for other opponent.
Then set hundreds of enginseers to clean up holy terra.
Produce legions of Adeptus astartes and prepare to set out from holy terra once warp storm abates when the Eldar accidentally create Slaanesh.

You can't have an almighty God-Emperor without fundamentalism.

Today, the makers of the game would soon release a patch 'fixing' the game since the user clearly generated a narrative that wasn't intended by the game's developers.

I only read the OP. TL;DR the retard went with a Big Brother solution in a grimdark dystopian future that calls for Spehzz Mehreenz.

Someone from the codex should get a copy of the savegame (I think it was posted) and make an LP out of it.

That requires a lot of focus, just to prolong the war. Simply defending and rebuilding should be enough to win. Besides its civ 2, AI isnt nowhere near competent to be a challenge.

Wasn't Civ 2 skyway's favourite ? I wonder about MetalCraze insights on this topic.

Took a look at the save. Funny and full of WTF moments. He was/is clearly casual-playing and/or is a very crappy player. No offense but man.. he is even playing in the easiest difficulty and didn't grab the most important wonders, in communism and not building spies, building tanks in cities with 1 shield per turn, a lot of useless buildings, ...

In civ2 the game has a final end date at 2020 IIRC but let you continue playing turns if you want after the final points calculation.

I wish I still had his carefree mind for civ2. It's a game I know too well to play that way.

I thought that was CivIII ?
