I'm playing on a Geforce 8600 GT, don't know how useful is that for you, performance could be better but I'm not complaining.

Also, how do you make the game less blurry? I can't believe just how everything looks like it's smeared through vaseline, it's very unpleasant and vague to look at. Guild Wars is so sharp and clear in comparison. These next-gen effects suck.

Also the walking speed is way too slow, and the cutscenes go on for too long.

Apart from that it's pretty great, smooth, with lots of neat ideas.

I ran a scan at one of those "can you play it" sites and it says i pass everything but the graphics requirments.. but then it goes:

Features: Minimum attributes of your Video Card
    RequiredYou Have
[IMG] Pixel Shader version 3.0 4.0
[IMG] Vertex Shader version 3.0 4.0
[IMG] Dedicated Video RAM 256 MB
    512 MB

So wtf.. I pass all the sub requirements.

Heh, Gunnar's Hold was decimating everything in 3W last night, according to the stats.

I'm taking it easy, not really rushing. Some guildies are at 15 already while my highest char is a measly 8. Seems they added more events and detail since BWE2, lots of shit to do at all times.

Ret paladins... Errr, 2h sword guardians pretty much own - took on an elite event (granted, an easy one, spider mother) without even breaking a sweat. Thieves feel a little more risky to play now, though.

So did they fix or add options for FOV and camera smoothing in the final build?

Framerate is way better than in beta. I ended up playing my sylvari elementalist instead of the charr necromancer I was planning to. Nearly level 16 on it and doing pretty good. I still haven't found a skillset that clicks with me though. And I'm beginning to wonder if I should switch from staff to scepter/focus or scepter/dagger. It feels like I'm doing very little damage solo. the few instances where I can make the most of my AoE I'll get steamrolled in seconds by the swarm.

Is it odd that I enjoy the farm quests, like watering the useless cunt-of-a-farmer's corn?

    That and sPvP are SUBLIME.

Forced patch right as we were going for the swamp Behemoth, bummer.

Overflow and party mechanics are a nightmare.

So, in this game, you wander around an open zone until you come across a Heart symbol. Then you repeatedly do mundane tasks until a meter fills up and you get your reward. Then the Heart symbol is filled and you move to the next Heart symbol.

    Sounds like fun?

Actually it's simpler than that - you just click buttons.

But seriously folks. Why is this game better than any other MMO ever? Instead of getting quests from a quest dispenser NPC you just get quests by wandering into their zone. The quests are the same design... collect something over and over, kill something over and over, click something over and over. Is everyone delusional?

BTW, people who think there's "no monthly fee" -- think again. I'm willing to lay down money they release an expansion every 6 months. Amortize the cost of that thing and you've got your monthly fee simply rolled up into a semi-annual fee.

Bunch of drones, lead by hype, who jump from one "totally awesome" hyped project to another.

Previous flavour of the month was D3, now its GW2.

Both are crap which drones will "realise" once they jump next hyped FOTM product.

If I already picked a shard does it mean I couldn't go in that guild without paying for a transfer?

Also as of now I wonder how party play is even doable with all of the overflow zones, and they last quite long.

    I am playing an elementalist.

I don't think it was ever hyped as a "revolution", just a relaxing game with smooth combat, a good art style, nice music, nice game world and no monthly fees.

the difference other than not having to look for quest givers and then walk for hours to some random area is that the quests are mixtures of activities and the activities in a given area always count, even if you just do them on the side while doing an event, for example. that choice makes a huge friggin difference.
transfers are free the first week, and it's quick and easy to boot. plus you can be in a guild on a different server, you just won't benefit from the other server's upgrades.
