I'd be more inclined to buy it if they really turned it into a dating sim.

Honestly, it sounds like the game won't be that bad for a popamole shooter. It might even be better than ME2.

But I'm still wondering why the reapers don't just attack the citadel, shut down the relays, and win instantly.

  4. I thought that's what they tried in Mass Effect 1. I may be wrong because I didn't give many shits about it though. Then again maybe spacebug was trying to call the other reapers to tell them to come reap. I dunno. I used diplomacy to make the one guy kill himself and then had to fight him anyway.

One thing (out of countless things) troubles me...Why would the Reapers, the biggest, baddest muthas in the universe struggle so in destroying civilization on Earth using such an inefficient method as bombarding cities? Why wouldn't they just crash the moon into it or fuck up the sun somehow or do the relay thing as Xor said?

The famous Biowarean C&C...actually I wonder if it isn't a subtle commentary on the futility of existence, the fact that no matter what you do, in the end everyone dies? Maybe we're looking at it all wrong and Bioware products are actually deep allegorical works on a par with those of ancient times?

Shit, bro, the answer's in their name. They're REAPERS. They reap the organics. Can't do any reaping when the planet and everything living on it are molten slag.

Though when you're supposedly Space Cthulhu I'd expect Space Nyarlathothep to have tried starting Reaper Cults all over the galaxy via artifacts. It's easier to harvest when your crops jump into the thresher willingly.

Guys, they are a metaphor for the Rapture, didn't you get it?
Just look at all the gay sex, it's pretty obvious that ME's Earth is the new Sodom, Reapers are Angels transforming the chosen into celestial beings and casting away the Unworthy, this means that Shepard is Lucifer.

Makes 'sense' in a way though I prefer Kz3r0's Sodom explanation...I wonder if it will ever be explained how organic material magically transforms into 'reapers' and why?

Probably they build some sort of armor around themselves which is culturally squid-like. Or else we have to believe that every single civilization they harvested before this were squids. The more I look at their technology, the more stupid it gets, actually. Certain things, like how they are born, I can handwave it away as plotholium. But they're apparently capable of transmitting information from outside the galaxy - Harbinger was in dark space while controlling the Collectors.

Why not set it up so you can transmit information directly to the keepers so that they can open the relay, or is that impossible despite their 'advanced technology'? :retarded:

It's sad when Bioware makes less sense than fan-service anime.

They are like stuffed cookies - hard exo and endo skeleton stuffed with soft organic pulp and from that stuff they benefits characteristics of particiural species they absorbed, such as adaptation , thinking pattern and shit like that.

    Mental gymnastics worthy BSN :smug:

Keepers was altered by protheans, they no longer listening to reapers, thats why Saren get to citadel thru conduit and tries to open citadel relay manually

Sure, that's what they tried in ME1. But unless they're operating under comic book supervillain laws, there's no good reason that I can see why they wouldn't try to do so again.

Point. Didn't they wipe out the Protheans though? Can't see when the Protheans would have time to modify the keepers if presumably the Citadel is the first place attacked and the Protheans didn't know they were coming.

That's what the whole Conduit business in the first game was about. Prothean researches on Illos managed to build an experimental miniature mass relay just before the invasion, they managed to hide the location of Illos from the reapers and after they went back to darkspace they got into the citadel via the experimental relay. The big obvious plot hole here is why Saren would even need to find it, since he already is a spectre and can do pretty much whatever he wants anyway, and Sovereign wasn't helped by it at all.

Yeah, I was just thinking about that. Is it possible that Saren and Sovereign didn't know how to reactivate the Citadel on their own and actually had to find the Ilos base to learn from what the Prothean researchers had done?
Or maybe Sovereign just wasn't in a hurry and wanted to investigate why the usual method (via the Keepers) wasn't working, before launching his attack.

Only thing I can even come up with (and there's no way I'd give Bioware enough credit to plan this out properly) is that Sovereign has to dock on the Citadel's penis thing to haxxx the system and activate the Deep Space 9 relay. Citadel control would probably close the arms if they saw some big crazy unknown "Geth" ship approaching and maybe damaging the wings would fuck up its relay ability so he couldn't just explode through it? So Sarevok Saren needed the Ilos relay to bring his army into the Citadel to combat C-Sec forces?

    That's all I got.

I always thought he needs Saren or anyone else to hack the computer from within. Sovereign can't hack the computer from outside, that was why the keepers were there in the first place.

Who knows, I just remember after you killed Saren that Sovereign was about to climax before the Normandy stuck a finger in his butt, then again this is BioWare so it doesn't have to make sense as long as it's CINEMATIC.

I think what Menck met is that maybe both Saren and Sovereign needed to be present in order to do it.

Don't you remember the part when thanks to the help of the beautiful and glorious Tali-chan Saren became a rogue spectre? He could have been arrested if he set foot on the Citadel.
