I thought about starting a new thread about this, but I think this has turned into a pretty good dumping ground for all BioWare related lulz.

Codex's favourite cRPG programmer David Gaider has given an extensive interview regarding the Dragon Age franchise at Thedas UK Con (fan convention?).

Apparently a "LOT of interesting and surprising info came up in the session, revelations about the Calling, about Templars and the history of their order, mages, discussion about Anders, Nathaniel Howe, Cullen, and Sandal (among others), so much stuff."



I'll leave it up to someone else to fish for choice quotes with the obligatory one-liner/image mocking it (possibly DU since it might become a newspost lol).

All the stupid shit bioware does and the biggest complaint is oh noes they are inconsistent!

 

But it doesn't have the complex characters and deep themes of Mass Effect.

 

Well, at least they complain about something that's half-assed. That's a start!

 

The Biodrones are very delusional about the quality of ME's writing. They remind me of the fanboys who think Metal Gear Solid or Final Fantasy have these great awesome stories.

 

Here's a shot of the reporter Diana Allers who's stationed on the Normandy and is a bisexual LI. She's modeled after and voiced by Jessica Chobot....... yeah BW isn't even trying to hide that its games are fanservice nerd baiting date sims anymore.

She's part of some quest on the citadel.

 

I'd be really creeped out if BW modeled a character of me. Think about how creepy it'd be to play the game and fuck yourself.

On a related note, Tricia Helfer's expression when acting out that Joker - EDI scene is so telling.

The high profile voice acting cast is a mismatch with the unexpressive models in the game. The lines are spoken with emotion that the computer models don't show.

I felt awkward at the Seth Green, Tricia Helfer scene. Helfer is also taller than Green, so that makes it more comical.

 

I'm kinda pissed off that when someone like Martin Sheen voiceacts in game, it's for BiowarEA crap but there's probably not much anyone else who can pay his fee.

 

Voice acting is for morons.

 

Boy, I wonder what will be IGN's Fap of the year Game of the year?

Also, my god is Keith David rocking the pimpest shirt I have ever seen in my life.

 

Max von Sydow was in Skyrim, so there's hope... That they'll publish a game by Obsidian's A-Team so the dialog isn't GOD-awful.
