Permbanned or just tempbanned? I've been tempbanned like 3 times already so no biggie. I'll bet Chris was waiting for a chance to shut the TIM thread down. It actually has criticism of BioWare in it but can't be taken down without good reason because it's a "support" thread and BioWare knows not to piss off the "fans" who frequent "support" threads as a rule of thumb. (The day the Miranda thread gets locked will be glorious. You also don't wanna mess with the Fenris or Anders threads)

I think I was just temp banned. My nick wasn't crossed out and I can still view my user profile.

No doubt they might've been looking for a reason to shut the TIM thread down. It was THE most anti-bioware thread on there. Myself and others were openly stating BW's writing is overhyped tripe and that ME's reaper story is no more complex than something you'd find in a TPS like Gears of War.

I just searched for anything Hepler-related and scrolled through the massive, massive wall of results. But yeah I do keep up with Sawyer and Lesi because they're persons of interest, but not Hines. I can barely muster up any enthusiasm for anything Bethesda-related for reasons I can't articulate.

What the dykes and trannies don't want to understand is that if Hepler could write worth a fuck, we'd love her. There might be a few people here who think Avellone or whoever is cool, but shit is as shit does and he'd be hated for his writing, not his hairstyle or what kind of car he drives. Using misogyny or whatever as a defense for her terrible writing is more insulting to women than the original "offense". My wife likes the sims and sucked at Mass Effect combat. Those two facts have nothing to do with her vagina. Genuine feminists would be punching this fake butthurt crowd in the face... if they didn't hit like a girl.

A lot of the people writing to her are being genuinely misogynist. Sure, there's legit (and worthlessly vague) writing criticism here and there, but it's being drowned out. And it's easy to go after the low hanging fruit and dismiss them all as a bunch of bitter misogynerds. Bad apples and the bunch.

If you start the conversation by bringing your sex into the equation and saying that it makes you a good writer then expect the opposition to insult your sex and say it makes you a shit writer.

Will someone please explain to me who this bitch woman is and why is she significant in any way? I mean I know her name and that she reviews games or some shit, but what has she actually achieved in life to give her this so called "star" status?

Her licking a PSP, or whatever the fuck that is, is suposed to be what exactly? Sexy? Erotic? This is the reason she is in ME3? Did someone tell her she ingested a couple of billion bacteria by licking a HAND HELD device? Judging by their reaction, the two guys behind her gave the PSP a good rub with their balls before giving it to her.

I can understand having celebrities in games. It helps sales. I get it. But why HER?

Transparent nerd baiting and EAware's attempt to to get IGN to give them a good score.

This is only tangentially related to the whole Hepler thing, but has anyone else noticed that women who are actually attractive almost never use a form of "oh he's just angry because he can't get laid" to dismiss legitimate opposition/criticism of themselves or any other female?

    That's our Rex!

Annie did the same thing in one of the Codex's usual misogynerd threads. It's just a really easy button to push and it riles guys up so much. :3

Honestly, this misogynist scapegoat is a logical fallacy in itself. Even if people are making genuinely misogynist statements about Hepler - Why? She's not the first female game developer. She's not the first female to write for a game. If people were being genuinely misogynist, this kind of drama would have happened years ago. But it didn't. So if someone looking at this situation would step back, look objectively, and connect the fucking dots, he would see that the misogyny is just superficial 4chan nonsense and that people are either pissed at her for bad writing/what she says about gameplay, or are just being trolls jumping on the trollboat.

But no, like fucking retards, the general populace misses the forest for the trees and sees what it wants to see. Perhaps /v/ nullified its impact by being so varied with the insults but, dude, it's fucking /v/.

Thats it? That's what she is famous for? She would be better off licking and sucking dick. At least that's a respectable profession.

Bioware is really scraping the bottom of the barrel with this one alright.

Has nothing to do with my general point.

    Edit: Interesting to know, nonetheless.

But it's someone who's looking past the misogyny and seeing the real issue? Not the general populace and probably won't reach them, true.

Pretty much yes, that's all the reason behind her inclusion in ME3.

That and pictures such as this one:

She fits in Bioware games just right.

Ah, I see. Yes, thankfully exceptions exist, otherwise ITZ would be here a lot faster than it is.

Edit: Still, they had to write

Why? Is there some moral standard of acting or talking that I'm aware of? If you are walking on the street and some drunkard hurls epithets at you, do you run home and cry on the internet? Why is there such a stigma against people saying "bad things"? It's even less morally wrong online than in reality, to be honest, because you can't incite public riot or physical violence.
