    Did you clear the temple of Baa? It is in Avlee,the second elven city,it is in the NW corner.

    Yeah it is very well placed,it is not intrusive and annoying like in PoE.

    Tbf, that's two completely different series. M&M is built on free exploration of the environment to your heart's content while completing quests with the only obstacle being you or your party's inadequacies against the foes you face.

    Weeeelll, not technically. You still have to learn skills like mountaineering and being able to go through forests (forgot the name), so it's not like an open field the moment you go out of Fountain Head. You do get them pretty fast, though. MMX's exploration was mostly hindered by it being a terrible and banal shit boring setting than anything else.

    and M&M is built on flying and casting jump spells. Then again, maybe not. Sure as hell is no decline though.

    MMX was influenced by the older MM games but it definitely felt like a more modern RPG. Combat was all about buffs/debuffs and you really had to min/max your party to do well. Whereas the older M&M games were more focused on exploration and discovery and the combats were relatively simple. It also used Ubisoft's boring and generic world they created for the later HOMM games.

    So, I got to Swamp Town and its dungeon, but there are some hidden passages that I can't break through to. I'm assuming I can teleport to the chambers, but is there a way to break through the walls? The aging curses are starting to get scary, two of my guys are 30 years old now and I've heard that around 35 the effects start to kick in. I hope I can find the fountain of youth soon.

    Another random observation - the monster design is generally pretty cool, I love the Reapers and Scorpias.

    So that's where it was? Quite logical when I think about it, though.
    I must not have explored it well enough, then. I found the letter to the Devil leader, but no statue.

    There was,press B if i remember correctly and the front people try to bash the wall. Also there was a spell that teleported you up to 9 spaces.

    It was somewhere at the back of the maze in or around the caves in a chest.

    I'm pretty sure age is kind of irrelevant. It's a flat bonus to intellect-related stats and a flat penalty to physical-related stats, but due to how M&M3's stat system works (only getting bonuses at certain breakpoints, with a greater gap between each breakpoint) there isn't much effect in practice. If you go from 30 strength to 5 strength it would suck (and I'm not sure what happens if you hit 0, death?), but going from 100 strength to 70 strength is basically irrelevant.

    One of the hirelings is 150 years old or something. Of course he's a sorceror, but he manages with decent physical stats. If there's some arbitrary age limit past which you die then it's really high.

    Wow, didn't know this game, i'm not sure i can resist it for long now i know it's there ...

    As for MMX, as Lacrymas said, there's a crippled version of Lloyd's Beacon, they changed its magic school (morons) to put it in primal magic.
    Also, it's back to MM5- only one teleportation spot for spirit beacon, worse, you get two mages with it, they share the same teleportation spot, no way to have more than one (the guy who had this brilliant idea should be in guantanamo, it's a crime against gaming )

    Otherwise, i agree, all those locked areas makes you feel like you're playing a console game (damn you, Ubisoft ).
    The worse parts for me were travelling in town (maybe you didn't have time to "enjoy" that feature that much, it's terrible when you want to re-visit the second town's shops, even worse in the third ), travelling in general (only one spirit beacon spot) and loading time.

    On top of that, modding was made very difficult.
    Who the fuck are those guys, is it the first game they made, how many mistake can one make on one single project ?

    It's a real shame, except for that, i think it's a great game, if those issues were addressed, it would have been a very good blobber, one of the best, maybe.

    I feel like I'm playing this game wrong. I'm in Swamp Town, yet the moment I exit I'm assaulted from all sides with Death Locusts and shit, constantly getting diseased and one-shotting Ressurectra, then I revive her, spam cure disease on everyone, rest and repeat. I can easily kill mobs, just this disease is driving me nuts. Is there a way to protect yourself from it? My party is level 10, am I supposed to be somewhere else and not here? Does the game expect you to grind? I hope it doesn't.

    Sorry for this boring question guys- but I decided to make a serious attempt to play mm6. I installed the greyface patch and everything works fine. I need to remap keys though, as my laptop keyboard layout is not ideal. Ive looked at the config file and see the keybinds, but I don't understand what the entries mean. It says stuff like 'attack=154'
    'Run=64'
    Etc

    Am I even looking in the right area?

    Those are ASCII scan codes, iirc. They're essentially how your PC reads the letters on your keyboards as integer values

    I just found out the Scorpias are indeed supposed to be an unflattering representation of Scorpia, the reviewer. Whatever happened to her? I know she said she didn't have enough income to buy a new computer to keep up with games at one point, which is pretty sad. Did she ever post here? It would've been right up her alley.

    I'm currently replaying MM6 with GF patch as well.

    From the patch notes:
    This util provides an easy way to remap the MM6 controls without trying to gess what key corresponds with which number.

    These are my key mappings, as an example:

    Default MM6 keys, and how I remapped them for my use:
    Show Spoiler
    f4 - fullscreen/windowed - DO NOT USE!
    q = quests -> make L
    tab = char cycle
    r = rest
    t = time
    y = yell -> make Q
    a = autoattack -> make Z
    s = quick spell -> make X
    z = quick ref -> make K
    x = jump -> make E
    c = spell book
    n = auto notes
    m = map
    enter = combat
    space = action
    r.ctrl = strafe toggle
    shift = run
    ins = fly down -> make PgDwn
    PgUP = fly up
    home = land
    del = look down
    PgDwn = look up -> make ins
    end = center view
    +/- = zoom auto map

    How it looks in the config file:

    The end result is that I can easily access all buttons on the keyboard, default to mouselook with easy switch. The game runs perfectly fine for me with this set up.

    Well, there's a lot of places you should rather explore, in the mainland, the first castle, a lot of dungeons, not sure which ones you completed, some companions have dungeon keys, so, after you freed them from town's sewers/dungeons, just recruit them to get their keys then switch back (or not)

    I remember exploring Cyclop dungeon early was a lot of fun, a single cyclop being a boss fight, besides, they only appear at the end of the dungeon, quite a lot to explore & loot in the meantime.

    Now this : http://www.rpgcodex.net/forums/index.php?threads/rpg-codex™-2017-dungeon-crawlers-results.116847/

    50 people having played M&M VI (2017 dungeon crawler review) yet 147 declaring it the best of the series in this thread, am i missing something ?

    I already cleared the entire swamp, so that's not a problem. I haven't found a single key to a dungeon yet, though, which is weird. I guess I should strip the hirelings of their keys.
