I wonder how much of this is the fault of social media or the internet as a whole. When you are bombarded with controversies and culture wars about this stuff all the time, you tend to fall firmly on one of the (usually) two sides of the issue. It's easy to get caught up in it so deep, that you are primed to suspect every female protagonist, every gay character, etc. to be part of the SJW agenda. I've noticed this with myself, at least. The mind gets poisoned by this, to the point where you are unable to enjoy hardly anything anymore without thinking about rl politics. Did people care this much about gays in games 10 or 20 years ago? If so, I didn't notice, because it wasn't spread around the internet like a virus.

 

I get what you're saying. On the other hand the facehugger/SJW hadn't parted its coccoon, launched itself at our faces, planted the seed of explosive death from within, and become the acid-for-blood marauder of free expression, comedy, and talent 20 odd years ago...that it has become today.

If you're going to try to colonize two planets, it seems rather bizarre to fill your expedition with a bunch of gay and asexual people.

I'd imagine if a planet was being colonized they'd put a large emphasis on the nuclear family to increase the odds of success

 

This kind of society would be so alien that I'd doubt they have any intention of exploring such ideas.

The trailer implied that there will be multiple planets so I'm thinking it will be a mix of mass effect and new vegas style.

 

The more I think fo it, the more I am convinced that this was the greatest opportunity ever for MS to reboot Freelancer. Give me FREELANCER DAMMIT! Bring it on steam at least.
