College student, actually. But it's not the money, HHR hits the nail on the head. I already have a huge backlog of games to play, and it's going to be cheaper on the summer sale. I'm not in a rush to play it, so there is no point in buying it now.

Ah finally Thief on Steam and it's cheaper than GoG. Finally I can play these games and get them to work.

Amazon guy on CAG just said this Paradox Pack will be only $13 on Sunday/Monday (I believe a few activate on Steam, perhaps all, but I'm not 100% sure): Crusader Kings II, Magicka Collection (+ Stars are Left DLC), Sword of the Stars II, Swords of the Stars (original complete set), and Victoria II.

  5. Crusader Kings 2, Magicka, and Sword of the Stars 2 should all activate on Steam.
Also dear god that's an awesome deal. Here's hoping the individual Paradox prices are similarly nutty (Though they surely won't be). Hoping he gets Steam keys of the non-Steam Paradox games up before the sale since I've been eyeballing me some Paradox (Probably EU3, maybe Vicky 2, and probably Sengoku since it looks like it'll be $5 (Though it's Steam)).
Also also might have to see if I can trade my extra Dungeon Defenders for a Sword of the Stars 2 key. Heard it's super buggy and not as good as the original, but if I could swing it for a trade I'd be pleased.

That "Because we may" or whatever it was called deal should be going live tomorrow, too.

Sweet jesus that would be a good deal, just for ck2.

If you only get 1, get eu3 (not complete though, it is missing most of the game).

  7. Yeah, assuming they get Steam keys working (And depending on price) I'm planning on picking up EU3 "Collection" which has all the major expansions.

Also wonder if they'll do a sale on Warlock. Probably wouldn't be under $10 if they do a sale on it though. Still might be interested since they seem to be patching it regularly and quickly, and the demo gave a pretty decent impression. Video games!

Waiting on the summer sale for Warlock and probably Defenders of Ardania if it doesn't drop to $3.75.

Awesome deal if that's the case, but you'd have to be a retard to buy the pack at full price, it costs more than the individual games.

Pretty sure that page was recently created just for this sale.

Exactly. When you see packs like that they are created specifically for the sale and they don't intend for you to pay full price.

  12. The "Because we may" sale mostly sucks, especially on the few things I was eyeballing. Stacking was $6 which I was considering but has gone up to $7.50, and Vessel is $10 and QUBE is $7.50.
Still might pick up Stacking at that price if Amazon price matches it (Burn up that $3 credit) since it likely won't be in any indie bundles, but nuts to Vessel and Qube. I'll get 'em eventually.

Binding of Isaac and Dungeons of Dredmor are both marked down though. I'd recommend both of those to Codexbros, even though Dredmor is sub-par compared to free roguelikes and Binding of Isaac infuriated me at launch by eating my saves for week(s).

Yep, most of it is only 50% off, although nothing I really wanted. The Vertex Dispenser developer decided to be a douche and raise the prices of his games: https://twitter.com/#!/smestorp

Not even close. It's linear and maybe five or six hours long. Looks pretty, though, if you have a high end graphics card.

I wouldn't buy it knowing what I know now (boring gameplay/story, awful FOV, hideously optimised).

It's also very hard to get looking its best unless you have SLI/Crossfire. One of the only games that seems to be optimized primarily for multi-GPU setups. I'm sure there are people who've got it on more-or-less max with single high-enders though.

Bleh. Isn't there still an X.P. to come out for that? Anyway BoI lasted me about 1 hour before I uninstalled, but w/e. Could still look for some sweet GotY deals instead.

  19. Sengoku for $5. NOT A STEAM KEY
    http://www.amazon.com/Paradox-Interactive-40795Sengoku1-Sengoku-Download/dp/B005M38I5E/

Think I'll pick that up. Been antsy for more Paradox strategy after rubbing Crusader Kings 2 all over my greasy body. Sounds like this is basically Crusader Kings 2-Japan edition with slightly more emphasis on map painting, but for five (Two after credit) bucks what the fuck. Still waiting for a good deal on EU3 on Steam, god damn it Paradox I know you've had big sales on it multiple times but I was scared! All your menus were intimidating! But now that I took a single county earl and made a dynasty controlling three crowns I'm ready for you!
http://www.rpgcodex.net/forums/index.php?threads/sengoku-this-bitch.63958/page-5 Codex Sengoku thread if anyone's curious as to hivemind opinion. Seems mostly positive, though I guess bros didn't stick with it as much as CK2.

And I actually liked Metro 2033, but it is linear as hell and I'm fairly forgiving when it comes to dumb FPS. Binding of Isaac's a far better game assuming it floats your boat though.

Edit: Well fuck. I was pretty positive Sengoku activated on Steam. Bought it from Amazon, tried activating key, no luck. Fuck! AMAZOOOOOOOOON! PARADOOOOOOOOOOOOX!

Actually it's not that bad, if you don't mind the linear nature. Of course, most games are pretty linear, so what the fuck. A few levels offer multiple approaches (well, the stealth approach and the shooting approach, plus some very limited exploration). No open-world or large free-roaming levels, though.
It's got a good atmosphere, imho, some levels are even a bit scary and at high settings I have no problems with performance (although I get some rare unexplainable slowdowns near certain lightsources; GTX460, AMD Quadcore).
There seem to be some quirks there, so you might want to look for a tweaking guide if you should get it.

All in all I think it's worth 5 bucks, but I've seen it for less already.
