Amazon saved me from myself. The Amazon rep on CAG told me to contact customer support and get a refund, and sure enough they refunded me even though the retardation was on my end. Thanks Amazon, that's even better customer service than the glorious god-Gaben.

 

I sort of feel bad for the Amazon guy because the only question he fields is basically: "Does X activate on Steam?" Still, better he get the sale than Valve.

 

In the defense of Steamtards such as myself, he did seem to imply that the addition of more Steam keys on Amazon was doing well for them though. And someone competing with Valve on pricing but offering Steam keys is just the sort of competition I can get behind.

 

I would have helped you out by getting that Paradox Pack and given you SotS II but SotS I doesn't activate on Steam, wtf!!!

 

Yeah, that's a shame. Especially since I don't see it being likely Steam will beat that price. Most certainly not for Crusader Kings 2, but even the other games like SotS1 and Vicky 2 wouldn't get as comparably cheap I suspect. That $13 bundle is nuts.

 

I'm really not even wild about Magicka so I probably would have just kept CK II and sold the rest off. Still trying to unload that Guardian of Light key for $3, but I could always just keep it. I'm not necessarily dying to play CK II so I can wait another few months -- probably until the Christmas sale.

Yeah. I saw the post on the previous page with the link included. That's what I get for posting without looking into it first. It looks like they are downloads and not steam game codes. I can't see them discounting it this much, though. The only thing in the bundle I have already is Vicky II. I take it the download couldn't be traded like a game code could.

 

I believe only Magicka is a steam key. If it says [download] on the amazon pages, it's not going to be steam. [Online game code] is usually the magic word that I look for in the item descriptions, that's generally steam keys (or Origin). Amazon game library doesn't have gift option yet but I believe the Amazon rep at CAG said they are working on it.

 

CK II and SotS II should be Steamworks games by default (as are most new titles from Paradox).

Still half-assed trying to wrangle myself a SotS2 key but no success so far. Not really a biggy since I doubt I'd play it much anyway since SotS1 sounds superior, but eh.

Bought the Paradox Plentiful Pack. Everything activated on Steam except Sword of the Stars 1. I already own Victoria II. Will the product code activate for someone else? As in, can I give that to a bro since I already own on steam or will Amazon try to fuck me if I do that?

 

Should be fine, I have done that for my brother before.

 

Oh, and just so people are clear, Victoria II isn't a steam key in the Paradox Pack. Still a really good deal though for CK II alone though.

 

I activated the magicka dlc, ck2, and sots2. Then I bought it again for my brother because he is a retard and incapable of setting up an amazon account and the only thing that would activate is ck2 on his account. :mystery:

WTF. If I log onto my account and put the cd key in, it says I already own the game, not that it is an invalid cd key. So for some reason steam thinks all cd keys entered on my brothers account are invalid.
