Seems like a prettier version of Borderlands to me.

Was about to buy I Am Alive even though I know it's kind of shit because the atmosphere seems interesting and it was roughly 4 kwanbucks (cheaper than the hotdogs I sometimes eat for lunch), but they stealthily changed it to $8. WTF? It's not even a new or well-received game, dumbasses. They really don't want me to play this, I guess.

That's because it was a daily deal and now it's no longer a daily deal.

It's shit and it's maybe three hours long. Consider yourself fortunate you missed the deal.

  6. The loot system seems more akin to Dead Island without the weapon boxes. Lots of picking up garbage and dollars.

Also would say Borderlands 2 is prettier and runs a hell of a lot better. Was shocked at how poor Far Cry 3's performance has been.

Watching some videos and, funny enough, I was reminded of Dead Island... which I found fairly boring. Good melee combat but the level scaling ruined it.

Just bought Gothic 1,2 and 3 on Steam for $5. Never played any of them before. Starting at the first one, and holy shit - it's so refreshing to play something that doesn't hold your hand like 99% of the games released today. The combat system is clunky, but I like it. It provides a challenge I guess. They also remind me heavily of the Ultima series, VII to be specific - which is a definite plus.

Gothic's combat woes are somewhat lessened when you accept it's built for 1v1 combat. When facing multiple opponents you should always try to single them out. Not to mention you will actually get better at melee combat with proper training anyway and I don't mean just increased damage.

Who the fuck needs melee combat when you can roflstomp this shit with power of magic.

God damn, magic feels so fucking good in Gothic 1.

Because magic in Gothic is overpowered and somewhat ruins the experience.

Shattered Heaven just showed up, thought it might interest some of you (MHC in particular, since it's about zombie apocalypse). The game's page doesn't say much, so here's a post from RPS.

    Also on GOG and gamersgate.

Yes, Rebellion has everything of Trinity and adds more on top of that. I personally really like Sins of a Solar Empire, it's a hit-or-miss game I think.

According to some posts I'm reading about Rebellion, it adds a few uber units that some poeple find unbalancing, plus there is are less mods for it.

On the other hand, according to one of the developers, "There's no need to play the original and expansions first, as Sins: Rebellion contains all the same content and more. Sins: Rebellion adds hundreds of balance changes, a revised diplomatic system, improved graphics (better lighting, self shadowing, etc.), new capital ships, new titan ships, dozens of new research subjects, loyalist and rebel variations of each race, and a lot more."

EDIT: Jagged Alliance 2 Gold is one of the stealthy week-long sales.

    :?

Standard, cartoonish graphics with overstated dimensions?

It looks a bit like a touched up WoW with a zoomed in camera.

I really loved the game, in a childish, button mashing kind of way. I suggest to retrieve the CheatEngine table to increase difficulty of the game, in various ways. I don't know if their forums still exists.

    Also, hate me Codex.

Jesus. How the hell do you play that for 189 hours? Did you do multiple playthroughs (made redundant by the respec system) or did you simply do every single thing you could find and explore every single nook and cranny?
