The latter and not the former. I've tried to play it off and on. Very cool atmosphere but not much of anything else. A couple of simplistic puzzles, ducking down hallways and into cupboards now and then. The only survival elements are avoiding the monsters (which isn't too difficult) and looking around for oil and tinder (also not difficult). The sanity mechanic is interesting but unless you're an uncoordinated dofus you'll never lose enough of it to be a factor.

You have luck sea , just finished it. In later part of the games you must be prepared for some bactracking, and waiting after the monsters are appearing. Stealth is a minor part of it, so don't expect a thief-like gameplay ;). They react to the sound, and of course if they see you in the light, well, then prepare for some loading. Great narration and puzzles, excellent atmosphere and really memorable encounters (of which I will not write for obvious reasons).

Is Dark Souls worth buying for $19.99? Is it cJRPG crap or not? I think Jaesun loves it but don't want to sift through all the threads to find it.

It's not playable with keyboard and mouse so I never checked it out cause I don't have a (decent) controller but the consensus seems to be that it is p. alright.

    Sorry... wrong Codexer?

No keyboard and mouse means no buy from me. Thanks for saving me $20.

You probably meant Jasede. Not the first to confuse one for the other. :M

Yeah, I thought that was the wrong "J" when I posted my question. Dark Souls just doesn't seem Jaesun type of game based on our conversations and love of similar games. Sorry bro!!

It works fine with Keyboard and mouse. That said, it's been cheaper on Amazon -- got it for $13ish during Christmas and it even dipped to $11ish another time.

Although you can buy it on GOG, real GabeN fans can get Eador Masters of the Broken World for $20 on Steam starting April 19th!

Does GabeNStore also offer a discount if you already own the original game (ignoring for the moment the 1:1 $/€ exchange rate)?

It isn't up for preorder yet but since the original isn't on Steam I would doubt it.

Depths of Peril was pretty meh. Couldn't be bothered playing past a couple of hours. The combination of faction management + ARPG just doesn't work well. Drox Operative is a better format for it. And, yeah, Din's Curse is the better Diablo-clone.

Is Din's Curse actually worth getting or is it only neat as a proof of concept?
