I finished my H6 without any problems. It has important issues and bugs, but God damn this, how it's so much less broken and shit than H5.

H5 is ubershit. Sickening art, retarded writing, inane general design. The worst Homam game.

Btw I just reinstalled my H6 copy and the campaign works. Bug must be limited to the Gold edition then.

  4. From the look of things the key for the base game is fucked, somehow. So it only gives people access to the DLC campaigns and acts like they don't have a legitimate copy of the base game. I'm sure Ubisoft will make good on it and fix it eventually, but it's still pretty nuts it got that way.

(still considering picking it up despite this)

H5 was much much better than 5 in my experience. Not that I played either that much.

Hell no. In terms of mechanics, it almost like Homm3. The art was also OK. Homm4 is far worse for example.

Granted, purely mechanics-wise H5 is probably the best of the lot, since it's basically a carbon copy of H3 with some major improvements (initiative, special abilities etc.) But everything else is horribad. I was so disgusted with this russian piece of shit...sigh.
On the other hand the Ruskis made some of the most brilliant additions to the genre - Disciples 2, King's Bounty or Eador, all of which are IMO better than Homam itself (especially King's Bounty, my all time favourite).

Hmm, I'm pretty sure those Star Wars discounts weren't there yesterday.

So, Whisky, post about the new HOMM6 expansion on TC?

I bought it yesterday but uPlay fucked up again and the stupid game's still not appearing in my library. Of course Ubi support being the usual retardo land I can expect an answer to my ticket like in June at the earliest.
I swear, I had so much grief with this piece of shit over the years, even Origin is a brilliant piece of software engineering compared to this turd. :x

Dark Forces is still fun, been playing it today. Jedi Academy is good for the multiplayer, and Outcast has a great campaign. Republic Commandoes is cool if you don't mind it being very Halo.

Jedi Knight remains one of the few quality FMV games released, if you can stomach the outdated controls (they're still pretty solid actually).

If you haven't played it, Jedi Academy is one of the best Star Wars games, and the controls remain tight as all hell to this day. Some of the best fun you'll have with lightsaber combat can be found within it.

Hey this reminds me of an Xmas sale buy I did 4 months ago, so I didn't end up playing it. 4 months later, I can't remember which one so it's probably just sitting there now. Waiting. Somewhere :\

HoMM3 was best, any "improvements" on it just made the games worse.

That's nonsense, I'm replaying H3 right now, after quite some time, and with all the King's Bounties and later Homams under my belt I have to say I miss a lot of useful or fun features I got used to. Like the initiative or the creatures' special abilities or various useful tooltips, statistics and combat info. Also, as I said, the H3 story is barely serviceable and now, when I'm not a teen anymore, it really gets in the way of the gameplay instead of jazzing it up.

Anyone arguing against the morale and initiative or dual upgrade tree changes in HoMMV is not worthy of any amount of prolonged attention. Clearly reveals them for the nostalgiafags they are.
