You're not worthy of playing Dark Forces.

To what?windows 7?There is not that much of a difference between them. They suck equally except windows 8 edges out little by metro.
I rather avoid downgrading windows when using laptops.Drivers give me too much pain when i do that.

  5. Dark Forces runs in Dosbox. The rest are basically untweaked so flex your Googling fingers and get ready to straighten shit out.

  10. Dark Forces makes me break out in a cold sweat when I think about that water level with the tentacle beasties. Water monsters are one of the very VERY few things in videogames and life in general that freak me out. Once lived in the Azores, and despite loving the hell out of it and being my single favorite place in the world that I've been to (Beating out the vast swaths of America I've been over and Italy) going out on the ocean made me nervous.

(oh god the sharks in half-life ohhhhhhhh god)

You must have loved Amnesia then, running through the tunnels.

  12. Haven't played Amnesia-proper yet. Only did the mini-campaign they did for the Portal 2 ARG.

The tentacle creatures were scary -- they were taken straight from the films, too, being the monster that attacks inside the garbage crusher. Dark Forces has some great box art, by the way. I don't even remember buying the game, but I have its box and jewel case still and they're both really memorable. Just looking at it makes me wish they'd make a new DF. You'd think with the absolute FPS-craze that is owning the industry right now someone would give it a shot. I think the newest Star Wars games have been... dancing titles and a motion-sensor Kinect title? I don't know. Old 'gnards are clearly not the marketplace anymore.

I'd say yay, it's probably the best Star Wars RTS out there (not that there's a lot to choose from). I bought it back when it was first released and had a blast with it, and now rebought, since I've lost my CD and never had a chance to play Forces of Corruption. I'd recommend it especially if you've got someone to play the galactic conquest multiplayer with - sneaking a small squad of rebel commandos to Coruscant to assassinate the Emperor, destroying whole planets with the Death Star and epic all-in battles where you'd deploy all your heroes, hoping to kill your enemy's key figures and win the game - great times.

Just be warned that there seems to be a shortage of game keys at the moment, so you won't be able to play the game for a while.

Yuck! The last thing I want is a modern popamole, cover-based, corridor/ quest compass Jedi Knight game! I felt JK:A was already a huge :decline: in the franchise. I don't even want to think what they would do to it. DF, JK, and JK:O are great Star wars games. They come a close second to my all-time favorite:

I'm not sure I disagree (I find the games pretty different tbh) but Academy seems like it's the most popular, and I understand why.

Academy is just a disjointed map collection that's why Outcast campaign is better - continuity. But multiplayer is better in Academy since it's broken as fuck in Outcast where you can just spam red style 'forward+jump+LMB' to one/two hit kill literally anyone. They nerfed it a lot in Academy.

As I said, I don't disagree (I also like most of the FMVs in the old Jedi games), but the core mechanics in Academy are solid as fuck :)

Well of course nobody'd want all that. In my imagination, it's a badass shooter. Lemme dream, dammit.

Does anyone has a giftable Wargame: European Escalation? I would need it badly.

Dumbfucks gonna dumbfuck. Didn't we go over this a long time ago?

There are three different patch versions for Outcast, each of them an entirely different community and playing style.

Default 1.02 is the bugged nonsense you're talking about, where you could pivot with red slash DFA and chopping someone makes them fly back. Kicking only required one mouse click and backstab was wonky. Full of scripting fags from your side of the third world. It's a mess for shitty players who enjoy the bugs.

In 1.03, you could no longer pivot red DFA and multiplayer required a lot better timing as it's more about backstabs and preserving force, playing defense and force pull/push kicking. Kicking requires two mouse clicks and honed timing versus others who do the same. Mostly about getting your opponent to the ground and dominating them. Light side is used heavily in this version due to absorb and there are Spanishtards using scripts for backstab but they're easy to humiliate. Best version of the game as far as dueling and free for all fighting. The one I still play.

1.04 gimped backstab, thus nullifying its use. It also allowed you to use force pull/push after you've been knocked to the ground, so you're no longer vulnerable. This version was best for playing CTF matches and tournaments, many of which I took part in. Free for all was lame as most fights took ages and hardly any real skill was required, when it comes to timing and force usage. When viewed from the spectator, it'd just look like a bunch of braindeads running around randomly slashing each other with little to no power moves.

Academy was a piece of trash online from the get go, you're clueless. They made it newbie friendly due to all the whiners from Outcast who got their asses kicked. So you had a bunch of LARPing kids running around playing Skywalker, doing fancy spinny moves that were easily pulled off and barely did damage. No actual skill required. Even CTF was screwed because you could spawn inside enemy team bases and kick was even nerfed. Geared more towards FPS popamole fags like yourself. Game was retarded, none of us JK players stuck with it for longer than a month since it was a joke and haven for Star Wars nerds to roleplay.

You forgot to mention that Academy at least had lots of different moves, opposite to Outcast, which had only a few.
