Eh I think the left analog on playstation layout pads is crappy and they only put it there because the analogs were bolted on to original PSX d-pad only controllers. I get hand pain from that shit in games where you are supposed to use all the buttons all the time like Devil May Cry. I use an arcade stick for everything I'd use a good dpad for so I don't care about that.

I keep seeing Spelunky on sale in various places, but that nose alone makes me hate the aesthetic of the new version.

What's odder to me is The 7th Guest (a shitty adventure game from 1993) being priced at 40% off. Truly an offer that no man can resist.

Thinking of grabbing one, too. Pack is a good deal but I dunno if I'd actually want them all.

Was ROTT patched enough by now to be worth $7.50?

Yep, is fairly satisfying to play with the melee combat - breaking lmbs is fun, even if there's no real consequence to it. Story is...eh, kind of generic cop action flick for the most part but did manage to make me curious enough to see how it ended.

NS2 is nice at that price, hope more people come into playing it.

I got one of these things, simply because Wireless is a lot better than wired and it probably has the best support on the PC at the moment: http://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-Xbox-Wireless-Controller-Windows/dp/B004QRKWKQ/

Other than that, any with XInput support like Logitech F310/F710 will do well: http://www.logitech.com/en-us/game-gear/articles/7442

I also find wireless better simply because I have a tendency to break wired peripherals. The cables always end up hooking behind my chair's lever or I ride over the cables with my chair's wheels. I've lost more than a few devices through that and somehow I just never learn to look out for it.

Wireless is nice on a console, but on the pc you are so close to the screen that the cable length is irrelevant. So you're left only with the disadvantage of a wireless controller, having to watch out for the battery. Stores are always trying to push wireless M&KB at me, but I don't see the point.

GreenManGaming has Shadowrun Returns at 33% off.
Don't know if any additional vouchers may work (probably will).

Put it here since it activates on steam.

Wired can have its own disadvantages, depending on your setup. I'm on a laptop most of the time and move around frequently, and it's already enough of a pain because my headphones tend to get tangled in the power/mouse cords. I still generally prefer wired because the only wireless mouse I ever owned had an annoying tendency to drop the connection and issues like not being able to move the camera while walking/running in some first-person games, but I've been pretty happy with my Logitech F710 so far. Been using it pretty heavily for months and haven't had to replace the battery yet.

Most should have it one way or the other, but there's always VtM:B and FO:NV Ultimate ed.

Van Helsign? FEAR pack (not all of them, FEAR1 with addons are enough)? Condemned?

Or game that's mentioned in every sale - Sleeping Dogs.

VtM:Bloodlines.... that's another sale and still can't find opportunity to play it more.

F.E.A.R. is by far the best one. The expansion packs were so-so, as are the sequels.

The expansion packs were outsourced budget stuff with no work put into the story or most of the visuals, but I think they are a great improvement on the original's gunplay model. I love the wide open arenas and extra environmental destruction in Extraction Point, and the fast moving Nightcrawler guys in Perseus Mandate much more than most of the stuff in the original.

    The sequels are dull, though.

I'll have to check 'em out again sometime, I guess. I remember being distinctly underwhelmed exactly because of the rather weak story of the expansions.

Yeah, you'll cringe if you're a storyfag--I'm not and even I did at some points--since it all boils down to "You have to get to the place where the game happens to end." But the combat is wonderful.

Also, the first chunk of Perseus Mandate isn't very good either. The environments are noticeably blockier and their design is pretty uninspired for the combat, which leads me to believe that it was some sort of last minute addition because the devs found out they needed a more gradual introduction or something. The 2/3 or 3/4 of the game afterward more than make up for the intro's failings.
