Ten Thousand Coins, "a story-driven merchant adventure":

ss_cbb616908e995ea661e946a213654656d3118e30.600x338.jpg
ss_89043698e88a3b53b633f906601bd7394885e70b.600x338.jpg

Ten Thousand Coins is a story-driven merchant adventure that will test your sense of strategy and empathy as you make tough decisions for a fox merchant girl aiming to save the life of a loved one.

Moral Choices and Conflict - A heavy emphasis is put into the consequences of the actions you take, reintroducing a humanising element into the trading game genre. For example, would you help a merchant back on their feet and make a new friend, but potentially lose out on a profitable deal, or ignore their cries for help to make sure you come out on top? Would you smuggle illicit goods for some easy coins, despite the negative effects it could have on a town's inhabitants? As you make these choices, you are also pitted against time to save a loved one, creating a sense of urgency to amass as many coins as possible.

Bartering System - More than just buying and selling with currency, Ten Thousand Coins features a system where you can barter goods directly with other traders. Depending on the trader's mood and what each trader needs, different items can have a higher value, therefore knowing what item to offer and when to offer them is the key to a successful trade.

Features Include:
  • An immersive and character-focused storyline.
  • Make tough choices between altruism and materialism.
  • Various colourful characters and side stories to discover and complete to further build the world's narrative.
  • Many cities and towns to explore, trade, and build a reputation with.
  • A crisp hand-drawn anime-inspired art style.
  • Hundreds of unique items to use and trade.
  • Random encounters in the wilderness and challenging enemies to battle against.
  • Hire various convoys to aid you on your adventure.
  • Multiple story endings depending on choices made throughout the story.
  • Two different game modes: Story Mode and Challenge Mode.

The Protagonist: EX-1, strange-looking sci-fi turn-based RPG thing, with customizable martial arts combat system for some reason. Beat the hell out of aliens:

With no memory of what happened, she must trust an unfamiliar face to guide her through the alien ship and find the rest of her team. She only knows this: they are the only hope of Terra.

Key features:
  • Martial Arts Combat System - customize your character’s close-combat abilities.
  • Dynamic Dialogue System – make decisions and face consequences.
  • Initiative and Action Points System – fully control the actions of your character on their turn.
  • Deep content – enjoy 7+ playable characters, 10+ types of enemies, 19+ weapon types and much more in an isometric top-down view and hyper-realistic graphics.

Doomtrooper, free-to-play digital card game based on the 90s Mutant Chronicles card game of the same name, Kickstarted in 2017. Apparently this is published by Heroic Signatures than Funcom. Does it have a separate publishing team, I wonder?

EX-1 looks like Space Siege, you know - that failure of a project from some game developer named Chris Taylor, with cybernetic parts and consequences (people and their hostility toward cyberwankers with their cyberarms) but it was all in vain.

Customizable martial arts? Like unarmed in Revenants and Sacred games?

Developer's getting paid a bare minimum of $7k a month on Patreon (and probably closer to twice that), so making it free and having it show up on literally everybody's feed was probably a smart move.

...or at least until Epic buys him out.

Kwaidan, Japanese indie action adventure inspired by PS1/2 era games:

ss_04ec85c2187f73b8cea140b8f1c4b7ec5670a1bb.600x338.jpg
ss_153adc64c6017139a57eca54cff9f3547e34c973.600x338.jpg

The stage of this work is Japan of the 1930s.
Explore the mysterious Azuma Manor and do battle with the Yoki that lurk within, all while solving devilishly clever mechanical puzzles.

pregif_1.gif

Kwaidan offers a seamless merging of 3D action and point-and-click adventure game elements, allowing for a truly unique play experience.
Players move and fight through the world in 3D, but can call up a cursor to examine points of interest at any time.
The result is an action-adventure unlike any other.

pregif_2.gif

In sharp contrast to recent action games, which seek to deliver player satisfaction above all else, Kwaidan was designed from the ground up to deliver highwire suspense from beginning to end.
Nightmarish Yoki and fiendishly clever puzzles obstruct your path through the manor, but overcome these obstacles, and a profound sense of catharsis awaits.

pregif_3.gif

Enjoy retro polygon graphics that evoke classic games of the early 2000s, with film-reel-style presentation that transports players to a secluded mountain manor from the earliest days of Japan's Showa era.

Features:
  • Severe 3D action that requires precise operation and accurate judgment.
  • A point-click adventure element that lets you fully enjoy the fun of exploration.
  • Japanese retro romantic world of the 1930s (early Showa era) brought to life by classical techniques.
  • Equipped with a “mode selection function” that allows you to enjoy changes in operation methods and graphics.

This looks like mix between Clock Tower and Resident Evil in a japanese setting. I doubt that there will be any stealth.

Chains of Fury, cool-looking retro-inspired FPS. I probably have believed if someone said this is a DLC for Void Bastards.

story.png

The king is dead. Long live the revolution. They hired you to do the dirty work. Now you’re not needed so they can get rid of you… or so they think.
In the Chains of Fury you are a brutal (and a bit crazy) mercenary from out of this world, with a lot of guns and who loves to break stuff, shoot stuff and get paid for it. Those who put you in prison owe you some money. Time to get it back… and did we mention to break some stuff as well?

What really made us angry in the old school level design from the 90s was that poor concept of locked doors with a key placed somewhere in the maze of rooms. In our game there is no such problem as practically any wall can be destroyed. Of course not everything will be available for destruction ( We don't want you to fall off the level) but it won't be a lie to say that you will be able to destroy 80% of all walls on a level.

Having this cool mechanic that allows you to break almost everything gives as a chance to put in tons of secrets: hidden rooms, alternate ways of finishing levels, etc. We love Easter Eggs so get ready to find lots of them. We won't tell you how many are there. Can you find them all?

The game is gonna be a bloodbath. Why? It's fun to blow things up and watch things burn. It's also fun to punch and shoot enemies in their face. You can't do that in real life but after all... what are games for?

features.png

  • Experience the bloody retro vibe from the 90s but looks and plays like a modern shooter.
  • Bash, jump, demolish and cause mayhem in 6 different worlds full of levels in a destructible environment.
  • Awesome game world that looks and feels just like a comic book.
  • Destructible walls allow you to finish the level in many different ways.
  • Lot's of crazy weapons at your disposal: shotgun, machine gun, grappling hook and shrinker, just to name the few
  • Split screen multiplayer

Well gameplay from trailer seems underwhelming. Also being published by Gaming Factory S.A., yet another related company of the Polish shovelware lord PlayWay S.A.. does not give you confidence. (This could be another entry to their perpetual "coming soon" store pages, which make me think their actual purpose is just having store pages than actually releasing the games for some reason.)

A game where you control a monstrous thingie as it rampages through a military research facility:

There's a free demo of the first level available for people to munch on:

I plowed through the demo in 20 minutes. This one's gonna be good. The controls are smooth, the gameplay is solid and moves at your pace, the graphics and sound are top-notch (for a retro pixel game) and the devs seem like good sports as you can reach their HQ in-game and feast on them! One to keep an eye on in 2020.

Time Fragments: 24h in Capua, yet another token-style RPG but more focused on non-combat role-playing:

ss_652031f3afbe17aec4feb81c805792d8fbc5c948.600x338.jpg
ss_e4ccc0b1cb7345953c0399c733e7e449bc0d9974.600x338.jpg

BACKGROUND
Time Fragments: 24h in Capua is an adventure RPG game set in 73 BC during the famous slave rebellion in Capua lead by the infamous Thracian soldier Spartacus.

In the future the human race have found a way to send up to three persons to a specific time and place in the past for observation purposes. The "Bridge" is open for only 72h. After no contact has been made with the three scientist for 48h, you and a companion of your choice are sent in to find them or at least one of them, having only 24h to do so!

UNIQUE STYLE OF PLAY
Game focuses on a unique style of play. At your disposal you have skills like manipulation, intimidation, negotiation, sneaking, distracting, pickpocketing, lockpicking, forgery, running, jumping and climbing, rather than the traditional "hit and kill" your way through the game type of RPGs. Luck is a part of these encounters and it has a special way of being intertwined with the game mechanics.

The game is "turn based" with a top down view. This will force you to organize your every move as every action, except conversations, costs some number of minutes or hours. Stories are flowing and ever changing depending on your actions and skills you harness. Choices will echo throughout the game, leading you to new encounters in each playthrough.

RANKS
If you ever wondered how would it feel to be the general of the Roman army, a good senator or maybe even gladiator or the new leader of the rebellion, you will have that option. It will not be easy, it takes some serious planning, but it will be worth it. A completely new and fun way to play ones obtained.

You can play for both sides, double or triple cross. Each choice will matter, for better or worse. Will you end up as a slave? maybe the richest person in the whole Capua, prominent doctor or the "Champion of Capua"...and many more outcomes will depend on the choices you make but never lose sight on the end goal-to find the missing scientists.

MAP
The map has over 100 locations. You are free to chose any direction and any way, but be mindful of the time it takes to get to them! Some locations will require disguises or special items to get in, others can be infiltrated in other nefarious ways.

Each location offers some clue on the whereabouts of the missing scientists. You can obtain them in multiple ways, manipulating and distracting the guards or maybe setting the place on fire to empty the room. Each location is unique and can be played differently each time.

Features
  • Chose the background of your character to coincide with your unique style of play
  • Over 12 skills available within 4 groups of abilities (Social, Thievery, Endurance, Intelligence)
  • Special system for "luck effect"
  • Find your gear to further enhance your character
  • Disguise yourself as with one of 25 disguises and gain access to forbidden areas, new stories previously unattainable
  • Explore the map with over 100 locations
  • Plan your every move within in-game 24h. EVERY ACTION costs time...and minutes add up!
  • Choose your style of play, whether is to approach silently making a domino effect or use your highly tuned skills help you out
  • Chose your Companion! Each one has a different need, but offers different help
  • Replay it more than 15 times each time with a unique story, different way of playing and a new ending
  • Richly diverse world with possible alternative history
  • Try to rise through army, political or rebels ranks, do completely new quests and meet new people
  • Try saving all three scientists that are lost, but most of all try to SURVIVE!

I only have five games on my Wishlist on sale... three of them are trash-tier titles and the other two have pitiful discounts.

Since I can't even get Steam to load properly right now, it looks like this won't be a Sale for me.
