    Very well then.

Arroyo, Klamath and the Den: Interesting Edition.

Rat Cave, Shady Sands, Vault 15 and the Raider Camp: Interesting Edition.

    And why stop there?

Candlekeep and the Friendly Arm Inn and the Surrounding Wilderness: Interesting Edition.

Kuldahar and Kresselack's Tomb: Interesting Edition.

    Liberty Island: Interesting Edition.

Slow starts seem to be the rule rather than the exception in classic RPGs.

Go on Steam for a sec, I want to tell you something.

If I compare these to the Ag Center path, guess which is going to be the worst?

BG1 has a lot of boring areas, yes. There is a reason that not a single game has been designed like it since*.

*before you find some random one, certainly nothing considered good

The game that you edited out also happens to have an early game dungeon, like Wasteland 2. Is your conclusion then that Good RPGs(tm) must not have deep dungeons in the early game?

I never played Icewind Dale, so I didn't want to comment on it.

Temple of trials can only be compared to the start of w2 and the Radio tower mission. Nothing else.
Well, maybe you can throw in Arroyo in that too since its basically a part of the tutorial intro, but not Klamath - which, btw is more interesting and has more things to explore and discover then AG center and Highpool combined.

Either something like that - creating a believable reason for your G-team being the only ones who can go around doing important stuff... or... something else.

You will be called to duty too tuluse.

And we will redo Ui too. Wheres that Phantasmal dude? Look man, im sorry for setting you up for "Killing them softly" mkay? The point of the movie is that violence is ugly and depressing affair, even if its done by a cool dude like Brad Pitt.
Now suck it up and buckle up.

    - edit-

Anyone else wants to be a cool ranger in codex P-team? :P

Might be possible with more competence on the official dev team. I dunno man... why not just play something like underrail? and not volunteer do the dev's work for them 6 months in advance.

This game is more fun when I'm hammered. Hopefully the full version won't require a dozen ounces of bourbon to enjoy

Im expecting them to improve on these things because if they continue like this - its going to be ludicrous. Yet i wouldn't bet on it. Especially after seeing BN defending these ... scenarios as if they are actually great - and even fucking rivaling or topping Fallouts.

We wont be doing devs work for them. They can have their 6 months.
But for that reason i would prefer not to talk about different ideas and scenarios too openly.

None of the things mentioned are final anyway. It all needs to be discussed and further enhanced or changed and improved and so on.
I have my own idea about changing the opening of the game that i will put forth to be considered. Its a bit more complicated then what felipepepe suggested, so...well see.
Im sure both me and Felipepepe can discuss these ideas, thrash them out in details and see what is easier to make or a better fit, without anyone screaming about someone trying to take over the mod, like that moron hexer.
Ive already rewritten AG center plot, Felipepepe had his own idea that can and should be easily added and mixed in.
And i have a complete rewrite of Rail Nomads area - with an optional rewrite of that Ralphie horrible splot into something that will have you all screaming with glee.
All using the already existing assets and characters and other stuff already there.

Not to mention the other, more obvious enhancements of the gameplay and mechanics.

Plenty of time to talk about it all and see what the dev team will do. I also think that moding tools will come out a bit later then the game, if im not mistaking.

Hiver did a great job with some Torment GUI mockups in the T:ToN thread. I'm pretty sure he'll do an excelent modding work.

Kuldahar was plenty interesting by itself, thank you, Kresselack's Tomb is also cool, and even good enough on subsequent playthroughs.

Not to mention comparing Kuldahar and the Tomb to the Temple of Trials and Arroyo is a fallacy when the actual Icewind Dale early game are Easthaven, the ork cave outside Easthaven and the wilderness before Kuldahar after the expedition gets slammed by the avalanche. And if you think those are banal/shit/boring and should be skippable, there is something seriously wrong with you.

You may have noticed that in that list I didn't mention the Temple of Trials, nor other lengthy "game before the game" tutorial-ish areas. (I suppose Candlekeep in BG1 is a borderline case but you can get out of there in two minutes.)

I agree that the question of whether Easthaven qualifies as such an area can be a matter for debate, but blah blah off topic who cares

    Not me.

I don't think Infinitron ever bashed a Kickstarter game or spoke strongly against it, The only time I saw any sort of discontent AFAIK and remember was in the Warhorse thread.

Kingdom Come wasn't a Kickstarter game back then. :smug:

Seriously, I've been negative about Kickstarter games before, including this one. Sometimes in a behind the scenes capacity, sometimes in public. My opinion remains that Wasteland 2 could have had more deep thought put into it before it went into production, but I just don't understand how you go from that to "completely unfun game that's also worse than Shadowrun Returns OC".
