Lhynn, I was being a semi-dick there. In all seriousness I think if one formed their opinions based off what the RPG Codex people said then they are a pedophilic autist nazi.

    Homebrewed intro for Wasteland.
If they manage to come up with something same as catchy as this, its ok in my books. For me half the video is the soundtrack and voice acting.

I hope the intro movie its not based on the idea of a nuclear meteor defense platform and satellites caught by surprise by a bunch of hard to find meteors preceding the not so hard to find other bunch of meteors that were kept a secret by US and seen as the opportunity to gain the upper hand against the soviets. (What?)
Because what is the best way to ease tensions and not start WW3 than to build in space a nuclear ballistic station and not to tell anyone about its purpose?
I mean, really. I can bet my life that none of those specialists they said were consulting (the hype!) came up with this childish, half baked intrigue.

I've only seen everyone acting the same way, going berserk occasionally, but BN did said that some stuff was already in, like the Hobo stealing booze.

I've recently played the latest patch, and I must say that *now* it finally feels like a promising beta. What they had before was an alpha at best. It's just unfortunate that inXile has meanwhile generated so much butthurt and disappointment due to the poor quality of the previous builds.

But the positive thing is - they fix things based on players feedback. That's the thing the players like.

Yeah they did an excellent job listening to feedback. Can't fault them for that. Perhaps they listened too much to feedback, and shouldn't be afraid to do their own thing. The game needs to distinguish itself a bit more as Arsene Lupin pointed out above.

The inventory system is much improved. weapons feel more unique and have more specialized tactical use. There's better feedback during combat regarding AP costs of your actions. Status effects are more dangerous, npc's can go berserk. There is even a rudimentary cover system. There is much room for improvement, of course, but compared to the last time I played, the gameplay is much better. Game runs better too, and graphics look better since antialiasing actually works.

It's trying to be like Wasteland 1 only "modern" in some places. For example the keyword system is horrid. The reason it's in WL2 is because it is in WL1. That's a bad way of setting itself apart if you ask me.

I think it's not doing enough to bring WL1 into more contemporary design. Why does a game like Jagged Alliance 2 do combat -way- better? They both have squad turn based combat with guns.

I wonder why people who don't care for WL2 return to this thread again and again to remind everyone that they don't care for it

Well, one day I'll find out what hiver does that's so wrong other than make big posts you can skim past that are sometimes hilarious.

    EDIT:

And that is better. Much better. (The UI).

Why are the dialog options on top of the portrait? Certainly there's room on the screen for them elsewhere.

But it is better than the previous one.

holy shit that ui apart from the obvious photoshop mockup look looks nice. It doesn't look like default unity ui code stuff.

If the motif in Fallout was the vacuum tube, in Wasteland 2 it seems that's the screw.
Personally I don't like it but anything is better than the shit that was before.

New UI looks much better. Well, one of the advantages of Kickstarter-based projects is that we can whining about bad decisions so they could fix them - like UI.
