The footprint for #wasteland2 is 23 gig & climbing, it has so much content diversity. Ship date will be announced this month!

Hopefully it won't come out along with AoD & PoE in the end of the year. It'll be too many games to play :negative:

Do you remember when the anticipated release date was predicted for October 2013? Oh, those times...

That mockup is much nicer than inxile's one, tho i'm not sure how good the conversation flow would be if every line had to be printed.
not nearly as disruptive as having to use keywords and hover over each individual button see what you're about to say.

My predicition is that it is July, mainly because feature complete is at the end of this month and the rest should just be bug fixing. And I imagine that they'll release a not Bethesda or Obsidian Buggy, but a product with its share of bugs to be fixed. After all they need to get started on Torment soon.

They have to do bug fixing AND balance, so it will probably take longer than just a month. Especially since inXile has a unique understanding of things like "Beta" and "Feature Complete"....

Titanfall was 50 gigs not because it had high quality assets, but because devs chose not to compress or encode any of them, so weak systems would perform better and not spend any resources on such trivial stuff. It's a fair trade off, but I wish they had a version of the game with packed assets, since my PC would handle unpacking with ease, but I could really use these extra 30 gigs.

I believe that Wasteland 2 will be released in it's "content complete" state on Early Access and after a few months of balancing it will finally reach a 1.0 version.

It was specifically including uncompressed audio and multiple languages, even if you didn't need them. The performance impact of decoding a compressed audio stream is pretty negligible.

Since we are just throwing out the random wild ass guess, I'm thinking around November of this year.

Decado Smug predictions of release date lateness are the cheapest form of edginess; careful that it doesn't blow up in your face.

The predictions for Wasteland 2 aren't completely "random wild ass" since the game is supposed to be feature complete and enter final testing this month.

I wasn't trying to be smug or edgy. Lol. Honest to god, I'm thinking November. I thought we were at least a few more months out, and it is already May. November is only six months away.

My prediction is an August release. It's supposed to be feature complete by the end of this month. I figure 3 months of bug fixing and balancing should do it.

I hope it's post summer, i'm expecting to have a lot of free time this summer and i hope to spend it on the beach instead of playing fucking computer games. Those should be released from September onwards.

Join the worldwide Wasteland 2 localization crowdsourcing effort!

One of the most common questions asked of us since we started talking about Wasteland 2, even before we successfully concluded our Kickstarter, was “do you guys need any help localizing the game? I can help!”

But I’ve done localization work from a high level enough times to know you can’t just throw people at it and it’ll all work out. So we put our heads together and came up with the best way to use the power of the crowd for our localization in such a way as to still get high quality localized versions of our games.

Stage one of that is what truly involves you, our backers and fans. We have set up a project on Get Localization where anyone willing can sign up to localize the game in French, Italian, German and Spanish. We will provide you with translator instructions and a glossary of terms, and you can dive in and right away start translating from English to your own language. Wasteland 2 is a wordy game, and it’s a massive effort. We’re excited about once again opening up the doors to involve fans directly into the game making process like this.

Once the bulk of this work is done like this, our plan is to then hand this to professional editors in these languages, who will do editing passes to fix errors, clean up stylistic inconsistencies. This way we’ll ensure the end product is of the quality we should expect for Wasteland 2.

Thank you for your involvement!

Our Get Localization Project Page

Is there a minimum time investment required?

There is not! Sign up and however much you’d like to translate, we’re thankful for.

How much guidance do we get?

Inside the project page we include links to the translator instructions we are using for this project, as well as an indepth glossary of terms.

What languages will you be localizing this way?

We are localizing the game in French, Italian, German and Spanish with this method. Polish and Russian localizations are of course still planned, but they will be done by Deep Silver so we won’t be using this method for those.

Localizations? Phah. Who needs those things? Back in the day we played videogames with dictionaries and notebooks on our hands. :obviously:
