I feel like gloating some more about inXile's definition of a beta. Here's Bioware's

    https://twitter.com/Mike_Laidlaw/status/470578001399132160
That was some representation of final product five months ago. :smug: Eight months seems like quite a while for a beta. :)

I wasn't commenting on your difficulty with the game as much as your posting habits regarding Wasteland 2:

Anyway, did you not notice the robot sitting right at the entrance to Danforth's "lair"?

I'll be willing to post about Wasteland 2 after August. It's not my fault it took them eight months to polish their "beta" into a product worthy of release.

I haven't tried lower difficulty modes but doesn't Supreme Jerk just make enemies deal/resist much more damage? And tbh, low level bandits doing four times the damage I do with very similar weapons don't really make for a good experience.

    My posting habits? Loel.

There are people far more in defense of this game, than me. Infinitron for an example and others. :smug: So I cannot enjoy parts of the game, and write about it? That irks you, bro?

I've seen plenty wrong with the beta and expressed so before, and I expect further optimizations, improvements and what not in the next 3 months... as has been the case the past 3-4 months...

You seem tense, bro. Take a hot bath and do some yogo, it'll loosen that tension right up, or go beat off a couple o' times :)

And yes, I've noticed the broken robot, and I've found a way to get it workin' :)

No. You just come across as:

    Show Spoiler

    is all.

I'm not, but I appreciate the concern. I'd even say I'm a fan of that.

    Game related:

    • Rail Nomad has to be the worst level-design and overall area designs I've come across. The dialogue is horrible, the quests are horrible (and have even worse resolutions) and the back and forth is horrible.
    • Titan's Canyon, on the other hand, seems to have turned out very well.
This lack of cohesion will be the greatest downfall of the game...but at least there's comfort that some areas will have better design and writing. I suppose it's not unlike Fallout in this way, although I don't remember anything as downright shitty as Rail Nomads in either Fallout.

You need the labeled tank tread from a dead robot to repair the robot at the Prison. You may also be able to destroy the turrets, not sure right now. That said I also doing know if the Prison's interior is in the beta yet, so it might not get you anywhere.

He's got that tag under his avatar for a reason. I don't know about the rest of the Codex but I can handle an excited fanboy every now and again, it keeps this place from being 100% soul-destroying and hyper-depressive.

Prison interior is in the beta. All of Arizona is. But yes, Prison interior is not realistically accessible until later in Arizona.

No, turrets are invincible, it was once possible to destroy them, then they buffed their hp to 999 and made their damage 999 as well . Kind of ruins the whole "If you're smart OR tough enough" dialogue.

Completely agree, I only do it for the sake of completing everything and getting the exp/w.e, not an enjoyable location at all, especially the back and forth crap. Although that's a problem in a lot of the game, a lot of times I just end up sitting there with my elbow on the desk sighing as my rangers slooowly make their way across the cleared zones, only to have to do it again. It's not fun.

WL2 is the first game I wish I had a "fast travel" button to get from the relevant part of High Pool to the entrance. I have yet to get to Rail Nomads.

Rail nomad camp is bad, but i think the AG centre is even worse in terms of progression within the level, the interior is confusing, cluttered, uninteresting and payoff at the end with all the conspiracy dialogue lines is very anti-climatic.

Rail Nomads is much, much worse than highpool. Highpool is annoying yes, but you really only need to go back and forth once for the wreckers. Nomads makes you go back and forth doing nothing but delivering little messages of he said/she said. Highpool at least went, hiking trip, combat, hiking trip.

Last time I played it I didn't hate it so much, first time? Yeah kinda, although it could be because I hadn't done it in a while, only thing that really bothered me was the frame rate drop in some of the areas that had multiple directions to take.
    SuicideBunny
I actually found out that the shit really did have a purpose! There's some shitty demolitions expert in the ranger citadel who wants some shit for some reason or other. Still agree that the shit and fart jokes are overdone. Don't know if I mentioned my horror story of being unable to read dialogue over the repeating cycle of fart text near the exit of Titan's canyon.. Ughh.

Most of the Infinity Engine games had lots of walking back and forth too. Actually, Fallout was pretty unique for how it was almost always possible to go from area to area pretty quickly in it. An understated feature, worth keeping in mind for Torment and Wasteland 3.

So, Brother None, why'd you make these turrets invincible?

I think it was a placeholder for people who were able to get around them by grenade spam(Myself included) when the prison area was still off limits. Maybe they just forgot to undo it? I hope so, the original stats were reasonable.

Not like it matters, prison looks like it's far from polished enough to be final. I'd assume that the instant kill super mines will also be nerfed?

I'm more curious as to why the Rangers moved out of the obviously extremely superior stronghold that was the Prison, as it was closer to both Highpool and Ag. Center, had a small community around it AND two badass military turrets...
