Hrm, well, true as that may be, I do feel compelled to point out that by making light of my immense suffering and trivialising the horrendously savage sexual assault upon my fair senses you basically enable vicious cyber-rapists to carry out their foul trade everywhere.

Not cool bro, not cool at all.

You know who also complained about combat in TW2? Jim Sterling.

Indeed,I doubt you can. Also why mention story if he meant that?I think he was just trying to tie Witcher 3 to that 'tradition' of arpgs with bad gameplay that get away with it because the audience goes all 'but what really matters is the story, combat is just secondary/something that gets in the way of the story!!1!'.After all that's the series' tradition too.

Regarding the newest Witcher book. The ending is kinda weak, but overall it is a solid piece of fantasy trash, so it does not differ much from all the previous ones. There's a lot of fanservice and Jaskier (Dandelion) is more stupid than ever (glorious flanderization), but overall, it's a good read with everything You would expect, including some cool new lore (like previously unmentioned witcher sign). I wonder if CDPR incorrporates any of the new stuff in TW3.

If You liked the previous books, You will like this one. If You didn't like them, You're not reading this anyway. If You haven't read them at all, well, it's Your loss.

I would read it but I don't like it's a prequel, I hate prequels per se.

Prequels are not inherently bad. It's just most of them are badly made, with too obvious plots and annoying retcons. Good prequels focus on fleshing out interesting stuff and showing those sides to a story which would be hard to put in a sequel.

In the case of this book, it's just a standalone adventure, which would have been hard/impossible to place after the saga, so a prequel was pretty much the only option.

I wonder if Sapkowski decide to go against the grain and write the sequel to his stories at some point. Butthurt would be immense and it would probably hit him hard, so I am wondering if he is deliberately playing safe with the prequel.

The sequel would probably be about Cirilla and Galahad, so it all depends whether Sapkowski's love for Arthurian legend is rekindled at some point. He has written fan fiction short story with that theme before (Maladie), but it was a long time ago.

    EDIT:
Although the ending to the new book does give him a backdoor to write a sequel about Geralt and Yennefer, so who knows.

There, there. He may be an alcoholic misanthrope, but he still has some dignity. He wouldn't make a sequel to a finished story.

You clearly know shit about journalism. When you watch something with the intent to come to the conclusion that it's awesome, then that's called a review.

Yeah, I am clearly from the old ones' pool of genes. I thought, when you are reviewing things, you (i) have some substantial material to actually review and not 2 mins trailer, (ii) spend some hours analysing it, (iii) coming with cohesive conclusions about pros and cons.

But it was just a catchy phrase that I guess, I deliberately hung onto. You know, watching a teaser and fucking reviewing it . Unless he had to re-view it to build his awesome conclusions.

That's all nitpicking on my side though. I genuinely hope that TW3 will be good.

That's some p. cool looking artwork. At least the 5 minute long loading screens will be pretty to look at.

"Next Gen consoles" with 8GB RAM, I wouldn't expect many loading screens tbh.

Yeah, I guess I did or didn't pay enough attention. With all those pre-teasers, teasers, pre-trailers and trailers nowadays, I kind of watch them and forget what it was all about in a second, and which were which, and which were from which game.

It's called dementia as far as I remem... oh wait.

The art is kind of cool. Kind of awesome, actually.

Or is it just that I'm so fed up with WoW-style "my fists are bigger than my head"-artwork that anything not resembling that gets my seal of approval?
