Considering that all the cutscenes in TW2 were done on engine in real-time I don't see why it would be different for TW3.

You can see aliasing during the village scene in the high-res version of the video: http://www.gamersyde.com/news_the_witcher_3_vgx_trailer-14895_en.html

    Boat scene is probably CG.

Grab the Codex by the pussy Serpent in the Staglands Dead State Divinity: Original Sin Project: Eternity Torment: Tides of Numenera Wasteland 2 Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 A Beautifully Desolate Campaign Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Pathfinder: Kingmaker
    All of them? Not really.

But I guess it depends how you define "cutscene".

Yeah, okay. The ones with nothing moving in them were pre-rendered (like the ending slides, which aren't really a cutscene).

I understand that but all the same one cannot help but feel the contents of those comic cutscenes were just infodumps. They were designed to provide large amount of info superfast. Which would be ok, if the info was complimentary, but as it turned out they were to fulfill the main theme of the tale - Gerlat regaining memory.

For such an interesting piece of reveal, which drives the character's motivations, to be relegated to an aside is just cringeworthy. When you reflect upon it the only things Geralt really tangibly achieved in TW2 were the contents of those cutscenes, whereas the major events in the storyline did not really drove him forward, nor gave him anything that pushed *his* story. Those comic cutscenes represent a huge, lamentable disconnect between the game itself - what the player did - and the goal he and the protagonist aimed to attain. He couldn't achieve it through gameplay - only through cutscenes.

    It was lazy.

That I cannot agree more. As I said before, I personally applause aesthetic of those cutscenes (in TW1 they were equally good, or even better), BUT I would prefer to have them on top of the story that should have been told via gameplay in the first place. More like a summary and not story-dump to fill the holes. So yeah, it was sloppy. Still I would miss them if they rid of them allthogether in TW3.

Plus they refer to subject matter outside of the game like Yennefer and Ciri.

I wish TW3 were isometric, or at least had a top-down cam.

Indeed, witness the terrible decline of Witcher camera:

As much as I like isometric view and even if the first witcher offered you that option, the game was obviously made with Over The Shoulder camera in mind and the combat was never tactical enough to need a further away view, so even if I started playing it with the top down cam I quickly turned to OTS.
BTW the last pic looks to be made for cinematic purposes, the actual in-game footage shows the usual OTS camera.

Not to mention that isometric view is great for 2,5D games but usually sucks in 3D rpg's due to camera problems and especially arpgs with no tactical combat aspects don't need it.

ghostdog bro, it's about options. I'd take the option of a half-assed top-down cam (so I could complain about it's half-assed implementation) over forced OTS.

TW1 cam was fine iirc; at least no worse than NWN and the like.

Options are nice, but only when they are successfully implemented. Different camera options almost always lead to half-assed results. I think it's better for a game to focus on one camera style (whether it's isometric or OTS or FP) and make it work good. I found NWN1's camera to be barely acceptable and NWN2's camera even worse.

    Wut ?

OTS has its own share of camera issues; walls or the character's ass obscuring the view, constantly spinning the camera around to see what's behind etc. If I'm going to have to fight the camera anyway, at least let me zoom out.

I think you miss my point. I want s game that has the depth of an old school game that also pushes graphics and visuals to the match.

And you miss ours. PE looks better than W3. Or do you think if W3 allowed an isometric camera angle the game would look way better than PE or D:OS?
The only better thing would be Gerald's animations.

I don't really care how good the Witcher 3 looks but if it has dark souls-like combat instead of rollingfest I'll play the shit out of it.
