Thief 4 missions ported to Thief 1/2 engine? Hmm it might make something useful out of them.

You could take all Thief 4 missions and merge them together in a single Dark Engine map.

But how do we convert those awesome cutscenes and context-not-free action.

DromED can do cutscenes, but you may be stuck with Camvator-levels of awesome cinematics. (Read: You'll want to slit your wrists.)

Camvators have their time and place. Some of my fondest/immersive memories of game cinematics are camvator sequences rather than flashy pre-rendered shit.

Blacklist has "Perfectionist" difficulty and Absolution has "Purist". Both have you die from 2 shots. But what's the point when shitty game mechanics stay the same? Except now it's shitty gameplay + insta-deaths.

Same in Thiaf. No killing? But you still have to endure all the crappy puzzle-based room level design and XP grinding and awesome consoletarded interface.

Absolution's harder modes were especially stupid because they removed abilities the level design was built around.

And that's the problem, everyone on the Steam forums is bitching because 'you can turn off all the decline with a difficulty setting so stop complaining,' but let's guess that it's going to be a nightmare completing certain levels without focus and objective markers.

Sure, if that ends up being the case. It's not a given though, Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Dishonored for example both played great with all those HUD and assistant elements turned off.

Not saying this game will though. Sounds pretty shit at this point.

And that is why you never play hard in new games. Although there was exception of the rule - Dishonored, which I played on very hard.

Yeah DXHR was great without the golden outlines if you enjoy checking tens of identically looking footlockers/desks/drawers to see which ones you can open.

Never had any real problem finding the stuff you could interact with. Most of the cases it's obvious, with the biggest exception being the desk-drawers, which have been somewhat random indeed.

Not all is lost, though! TDM 2.0 is now available as a full, standalone game - Doom 3 is no longer required. That, plus the update once again comes with a crateload of fixes and additions which should impact gameplay, as well as future missions - from better AI reactions to improved models, more refined sound propagation, and new assets.

    It's out? Wheeeeeeee!
Just yesterday night I was browsing the TDM forums to see when it's going to be released - and now it's out! Awesome!

I always said to myself that once 2.0 is out, I'm going to work on a mission. So, 2.0 is out. I guess I have to work on a mission now. Yay!

Disabling it has no point except to increase tediousness and I guess some sort of feeling superior to console peasants who play with such features.

It has the point of not annoying my eyes, and I thought all pickups were extremely obvious. In Dishonored it has the point of not annoying my eyes and making you think a little about where to go, which makes the game feel more open and non-linear, even if that's illusion.

    Shit ain't complicated here.

:bounce: But I wonder, how are the sound and voice in these missions? For me these are crucial in a Thief game.

    Now that's the good news.
Even with some mission incompatibility I have good feeling. Now I can enjoy the winter...
