Probably because that equals the heroines with the heroes, who are often attractive and/or cool guys who are beaten up by the villains before getting the upper hand. Heroines are usually there to look hot while they kill badguys effortlessly (male fantasy)or being kidnapped and passively waiting for help (male fantasy).

So, I still can’t remember my unicorn name, but I remember what I was called. Other unicorns that didn’t know me personally called me Ieki’Nahara, which meant literally Night Mare. Not like a scary dream, but a female horse (mare) of the Night (our “Father”). It was a title of sorts because I was colored completely black, everything but my horn, which was the white of the Moon (our “Mother”). My white horn signified me as a leader, but my full black coat signified me as the Night’s mare. In our glory, being fully black or fully white was really rare, so it was always something to be celebrated.
