    It turns the game into a still kind of low fantasy cosmic horror setting. Necromancers run amok across the land killing and eating everyone and the only safe havens are in towns. The ultimate evil is lurking around, hungering to destroy the universe. You can delay him if you so desire, but only delay him. Opposing them means certain death. If you wish, you can serve him yourself. Run across the land with your own hordes of the undead and eating everyone. Or you could just be a petty grave robber. Its based on the works of Edgar Allen Poe, with all that entails, including the appearance of a certain famous detective.
