Looks pretty good for a mockup but needs some work. The heavy bokeh look really needs to go or at least toned way down, leave that effect for photography. It's too jarring especially for a non-first person game. Makes the edges of everything look poor and blobby. Also heavily needs some more detail and color work. Something more like this is what I'd like to see:

The game is not even yet in pre-production.

The only thing that bugs me are the conflicting perspectives. Looks like a cheap adventure game, they usually mess that sort of shit up.

Wasn't that screenshot posted online looking for feedback and criticism? Thus feedback was given, in the form of fixing that shit in Photoshop.

I think it looks good but just like the early WL2 screenshot the textures aren't that detailed- though they've nailed a perfectly PST-like aesthetic.

I guess P:E has spoiled us with just how fantastic its 2D background looked, the actual gameplay footage may or may not deliver but that initial screenshot was just a great first impression.

But I'd rather compare this to Wasteland 2 instead. And the early WL2 screenshots were pretty unimpressive but the actual footage looked great and this screenshot certainly looks a lot better than WL2's.

Maybe it's intentional considering the location.

Looks worse than PS:T backgrounds. Not bad, but everyone expect something much better. Dozens of 2D games after 1999 had better backgrounds - with modern technology and 4$ budget they should deliver something nicer.

Looks good enough to me, but graphics are at the bottom of my priorities and I'm easy to please (as long as camera is fixed at that perspective and there are prerendered 2D backgrounds, anything that is not eye-jarring goes).

The textures look too glossy and not gritty or 'realistic' enough. Also, the color choices are sort of meh.

There should be a sense of wonder and hyper-futuristic retro-based post-apocalyptic awesomeness.

I liked the style of the painted pictures from the Numenera tabletop game.

I really like how organic the shapes are. Ill be very interested in seeing how the 3D characters traverse the 'not level' floors.

gawgeous. why is 3D such a standard? is there some legitimate reason for it, or is it really just that some time in the early 2000s someone somewhere decided nerds needed and extra D, regardless of whether it contributed anything to the game or not? I get why Quake is 3D. I get why Portal is 3D. who determined that nowadays only Mario rehashes are allowed to be 2D?

Yeah I never understood this. RPGs and strategy games could be easily done in 2D, and with today's tech, they could look amazing. I guess the mainstream retards and the garme journalists want 3D, and the publishers fear that their game won't sell if it is not a good looking 3D game.

I know, right? you can make something that looks better for less, and that won't start to look godawful when technology's moved on ten years. thank fuck Kickstarter devs seem to grasp the concept. Shadowrun, PE, and now this. steps in the right direction. I was puzzled that Wasteland took the Unity route, and am still less than wowed by its look. glad to see Torment won't be dependent on shoestring-budget 3D.

    Looks much better.
I like the design, but the original is too blurry, looks like an upscaled low-res.
Plus the lighting is too bloomy and plastic.
