Especially if they do manage to make your death interesting by changing the actual gameworld to reflect the effect of your earlier failure. Choices and consequences and all that. Who cares about stats when you dying in a crisis means the world is different once you return...

Did they keep the cloak animation from the teaser trailer?

I seem to recall someone around here mentioning its implementation or removal a few weeks ago.

Big McLargehuge is my personal favorite, but I wanted something slightly more understated.

TToN combat looks pretty sweet. A system unlike any other.

Guess I was too hasty to judge - with this approach TB does make more sense than RtwP.

I gave them like $100, so I guess I believe.

Nothing we've seen so far has made me want to kill someone, but I'm still a little concerned about content. They're going to have to make a lot of crises to keep the game interesting.

    • Changing options while the game is running can also lead to issues with the in-game HUD.

As far as I know, you can't kill random people at will in Torment.

    So, yeah. I'm concerned.

Could still be entirely workable depending on the length of the game and their skill at pacing.

You can heal for free every turn.
    You can use environments.
You can try to persuade your enemy to stop fighting in the midst of combat.

    But hell, I don't like gridless field=|

How sad is that? This kind of thing should be basic for a CRPG.

Enviroment interaction to a certain degree is becoming more common, but it's still way too limited.

The devs saying "we're focusing on providing lots of choices and quality over quantity" does not mean the game is actually going to be a higher budget Age of Decadence. In fact, you're probably being too charitable towards inXile by assuming that they would do that, that they would take risk. They know they can't release an RPG that feels small.
