Having the ability to annotate maps is helpful, but that's all I need. And that's only really important in first person games. I know some of the towns in MM6 like Free Haven were clusterfucks to navigate and could have benefited from that feature, but there's never any need for a quest compass. And how retarded would you have to be to need a quest compass to tell you where to go in an isometric game? One of the advantages of isometric perspective is the ease of direction sense.

I played through Torment very recently, and I actually spent quite a lot of time looking through my journal wondering where the hell I left off last time I played, etc. That was part of the experience, having to use your records (journal) and retracing your steps.

Auto-markers for visited shops and locations? Fine, if that makes sense to the designers. But any sort of quest marker, and this game suddenly goes against the legacy of Torment.

Just because there is some poll requesting utterly fucking stupid game design the likes of BioWare/Bethesda/CDProjekt doesn't really mean much. I highly doubt inXile would ever include such mechanics within their games.

This. The map of Torment just need this for functioning. no need for steeenkeeeng quest compass.

Fallout New Vegas desperately need a map annotation function, since the local map is just disastrous. I am quite put out without it.

I don't know what's wrong with me, but I don't feel excited about the game at all. I pledged of course, but I got to the point that I don't even read the updates. I want to play and will play it, but unlike PE, W2 and D:OS, something doesn't click with me. And I can't put my finger on what is the problem.

No worries, I wasn't excited for the first Torment either. Then I started playing it and it blew my mind.

    Voted for that one too.

But seeing as both have a lot of votes, inXile will probably implement a toggle to turn them on/off.

I get excited for Kickstarter projects when their campaigns are at their final stretch. But later I'm like...meh. Maybe the hype will hit me again closer to their release dates.

Come to think of it, I'm never excited about any upcoming games anymore.
Everything I've played in the last couple of years and found exciting came out of nowhere for me, so no prior expectations there.
And whenever I was excited about something in advance, I always got sorely disappointed.
Age of Decline taught me a tough lesson.

Yeah, it's probably just the distant release date. I'm not too excited about it, because it is far away. D:OS, W2 and even PE will come out in a year.

Well, if he is a writer and not a dungeon-designer, that's not THAT bad. I mean, sure, Obsidian is flat out better but i would expect that Bioware paid more then, he must have been very stressed by all the canceled project over at Obsidian, AND honestly a lot of DA2 >>>>>>> the shit in DA:O.

Like what? Tell me some of the many improvements in DA2.
There were some good ideas in the game, but the excecution killed them.

I remember one improvment - the fucking dog didn't take a spot of a party character like in DA:O. Other than that I can't name any.

Roguey can give you a list of ways in which DA2 tightened up DA:O's systems, but all that is worthless without good content to make use of it.
