I should have added, in relation to what exactly?
Those two games are heavily combat oriented and cannot serve as direct examples. Thats statement is very generalistic and i cant conclude anything from it without any further explanations and clarifications.
If you wanna use it to curb some possible future disappointment - be my guest. I dont need that shit.

And as i said the feature bloat is not the way to go about designing a good TB combat system.

AoD is perfect example of this.

And i will be arguing about transition to free movement and removal of the square grid simplification for TtoN which is so far the biggest let down in W2 - considering we really didnt see how it plays and how the skills and mechanics really work in it. (no, square grid is perfectly fine for a game made by four people)
On the surface of things W2 system looks to be as deep and complex as any ive seen. Execution looked poor in the last video but not becaus eof lack of theoretical complexity but becaus of the bad design of the area and horrible presentation.

If someone can produce any arguments how W2 system is so much less complex then JA2 or ToEE i would like to hear it.

    - i just burned my soup on a stove... that i cleaned yesterday :x:rage:

No no, I don't need to curb anything. I can handle myself with these - I'm very fine both simple (Fallout) and and reasonably complex (ToEE, JA2) when it comes to the workings of these. I specifically said I suspect as in what people may think as "complex". The statement is decidedly generalistic as it is supposed to apply on a general level, not specifically this or that. The point of using those games as examples is probably precisely because they are combat oriented; their set of features and workings are tuned for combat gameplay because that's pretty much all they want to offer and expecting same level of competency from a more "multipurpose" (figuratively speaking) game is likely out of place. And to make it clear, I'm not arguing, just winding my gums a bit about probabilities and shit. Maybe Brother None has the right explanation about what is meant with complexity here as he's in the know of things.

    This is true.

Turn based does not imply a movement grid. Give ToEE a play. It has free movement in a turn based game.

We are ahead despite flood of biodrone opinions. :smug:

If the combat is RTwP, almost of it will be avoidable anyways. :M

Your comprehension skills lack a bit. One thing is the TBS/RTWP and another the system itself.

I may have missed your point among the insults. Your rhetoric is really captivating. Tell me again how turn-based sneak is really difficult and adds to the game.

Underail has a cool implementation of turn based stealth. I'm not sure why you are implying that it would be easy by definition.

I think following this close result they'll come up with something dumb like making some sort of TB/RLwP hybrid ala Arcanum that will suck in both modes.

what youre sighing for now? is that some additional act? your post is stupid and you were explained why. No sense in just inventing something as stupid as that to wiggle out.

can you be so stupid to actually believe that? do you even have a brain?
    alternative being even more hilarious.

    no way?

man, this is getting better and better.

Why would you think this when they specifically said they wouldn't do it?

    That fucking Obsidian thread.

Good job bros; keep up the good fight.

Realization seeps in: of the 6 games that I am looking forward to, 4 are definitely turn based (AOD, blackguards, D:OS, W2) 1 is possibly turn based (torment) and one is PE.

    Dayamn. What the hell happened?

I don't realy disagree, and i voted TB because:
If inXile proves me wrong and delivers great combat, i don't care whatever is chosen as i will enjoy both equaly.
If somehow fucks it up, i vastly prefer bad TB from bad RTwP. (but i don't think ToN or W2 combat will be bad, just simplistic)

I really enjoyed reading that one rtwp-supporter going ballistic at RPS. I think there might have been two of 'em in fact. Maybe it's just trolling but it's still fun.

It'll be just perfect if a large amount of backers demand refunds when they don't get their way. Even better if inXile refuses. If they have such passionate feelings about whether or not a game should have turn-based or pausable real-time combat maybe they shouldn't have donated money to a project that wasn't sure which one it wanted to go with. They made their bed, now they get to sleep in it. That goes for you guise too. :smug:

Well, i'd say that Colin pretty much spilled the beans as to what system they were planning on implementing (which is TB).
