Not sure what is better, the victory of tb or the massive butthurt everywhere.

Goes both way as far as the codex is concerned.

Well if WL2 and Torment do well, they wouldn't need to go to kickstarter for sequels but maybe a different IP?

They never needed kickstarter for anything.

Codex wouldn't have been butthurt if RTwP won, it would've been as expected (well, I certainly expected it to win by a landslide), and would conclude with a few pages of the usual snarky grumbling about decline and Biodrones ruining everything.

I certainly don't see any Codexer come even close to withdrawing their pledge over RTwP winning, like these babies are doing.

Well if Fargo says the only way for him to get WL2 done was Kickstarter, I believe him.

If WL2 does well*, they probably don't need to kickstart anything, but again Fargo likes it. I would like to see a brand new IP come out of InXile if their games can live up to 80% of what Black Isle did. It will probably be up to the employees, if they're excited about doing more Wasteland work or want to do something new.

*in this case well would be 300k sales or more. I have really no idea how popular it will be nothing from 100k-1million would really surprise me.

If you honestly believe this, I expect I can't change your mind, but man... I think you must have missed Site Feedback for the last 3 years and every poster quoting Roguey since forever...

I would've gone into a depressed acceptance, I've been disappointed to many times to rage, I imagine many Codexers would fall into the same boat.

You know, I heard a story once about a guy who did the same thing, went turn-based after his last game was real-time. Yeah, you know, it was real bad. I can't say he totally deserved it, but I mean, I'm just saying, you know, a lot of refunds had to be issued, lots of wallets back in pockets. Well, all I'm sayin' is, I can't be liable for the consequences of your actions, y'know, inXile? If you do the wrong thing man, karma's a real bitch, I tell you. Has a habit of catching up with you... when you least expect it. Just keep it in mind, right?

I wouldn't be surprised if turn-based decision ends up causing your daughter to be raped and your wife to die in a freak accident. I'm just saying!

Religious wars aside, reusing and refining the engine from WL2 is our best bet for polished combat, regardless of the style. If inExile were just finishing an RPG with rtwp, I still would have preferred TB but I see wisdom in refining an existing system.

If nothing else it gives them more time to focus on quality and content, much like when PS:T was made.

Reminds me of WL2, when all the kids who donated discovered that there was a game called Wasteland and it was turn-based, and so would the sequel be.

    What pain it caused them.

Wasteland had simultaneous resolution, which Wasteland 2 does not have.

My memory is hazy but I don't remember combat being resolved from an isometric style perspective either.

One can only hope that TB will keep away Biodrones from this game. Hopefully it will not bring in JRPG-fags, though.

Butthurt is glorious. Feels good not to be in the butthurt team, man. Feels good.

My point is that WL2 actually has quite a different combat system from the original. So anyone bitching about TToN should be consistent with WL2.

If that's their argument like smudboy's is.

Personally I like some change, I've got no desire to relive Infinity Engine combat in Tides. I suppose I wouldn't be totally opposed to a RTWP system built from the ground up like Obsidian's but it seems like a waste for a game that's not even focused on combat.

I like RTwP but I voted turn-based and I will gladly flame anyone who's crying about wanting a refund because of TB. To the Kickstarter comments!

Devs can only flag my comments to KS and the KS moderation IIRC is lazy (since there were devs complaining about not being able to moderate their own comments in that recent article) heheh, good times ahead.

Doom 3 should have been that game.
