Transcendent is transcendent, you cannot scope it, but it can scope you. We are not transcendent compared to monkeys. We are roughly on the same scale as them when compared to entities that would have access to reality altering devices. You cannot interact with such entity because if it wants to, he can simply reset your brain in an instant, and make you do what he wants you to do. That is the case because we have brain reading technology in this setting, as well as superior AI and other stuff that does make biological humans useless and not relevant to any event.

From what you can read about numenera, being in such a setting is equivalent to playing an atom of carbon in our society. Everything you will do is inconsequent, because it could be undone in a second. And you would have to rely on massive author direct input to do something remotely relevant : else you are probably controlled by 27 different things, who multitask 9 different planets.

Because apparently there is a whole lot of that in this setting, and science fiction in general. Except it's neither never logically exploited, or the author uses tons of deus ex machina and leaves much plot holes. Ok, let me try and simplify the questions so you can understand them.

1. How and why are these intelligence or entities godlike and limitless in their powers - according to what we know about the setting?

2. How is it that magic is limited because it is a mysterious force that is ungraspable while apparent AIs and such entities are limitless because they are ungraspable?

3. What says that any of these entities can fully control humans, brainwash them and control them like ants, telepathically no less?

4. Why would they even need or want to... seeing how they are incomprehensible?

5. What proves that technology will always reach a step that is trans-human? I mean in this setting particularly and always being a key word here.

6. What proves there will be any disregard of the whole soul concept ?

7. What is a soul ?

8. What proves "they can just mess with the whole galaxy your in, at will." ?

9. What proves that "Let's face it, humans become obsolete after the technology reach a certain point," ?

10. What proves, that even if there are any transhumans in the game they are flawless and infallible or omnipotent? if they are not - what makes ordinary humans completely obsolete?

 

Most of these I've answered in previous threads, but just for you illiterate I will provide a summary :

1-3-5-8-9-10 : all at the same time because they mean the exact same thing. The author of numenera said that there will be tons of scattered technology, from a billion years of different civlization. This scattered technology comprise the following :
- Full Brain Reading devices : device can read thought, memories...
- Full brain control : Virus and devices that can completely take control of a brain, even a dead one. Therefore the device/organism is now in charge of your own spirit = you loose your individuality and you die
- Uber AI : An artficial intelligence that outmatch the human brain in every respect, and can connect itself to...
...- Nanobots : Some of the swarms are controlled by an AI. They have the power to construct/deconstruct what you task them to. This logically means they can construct you a laboratory + robots+ more AI computer + more brain controlling device... if you give them the proper material.
- Uber virus : virus technology goes as far as controlling an entire human. Add to that that virus tends to reproduce themselves...
- Reality twisting technology : Not a lot of detail were leaked, But once you've reached the point were you can disregard physical law, reality doesn't mean anything anymore to you. In case your too stupid to understand, that means your pretty near what one would consider god like level (by today's standard)
-Solar/planetary reshaping : The sun should have made life on this planet impossible after so much time. The author himself said, that something along the lines of solar/magnetosphere modifications were made.
- Advanced Genetics : to the point where mutant ... are possible.
- Anti gravity fortress, massive electromagnetical fields...

By our current definition, many of these are trans human. And don't fucking dick around with this : FTL mixed with ultra advanced DNA mastery, with Uber AI, with realitu distortion is fucking tans-human.
If this isn't, than what is?
Now, there aren't just human in this solar system anymore. Everything would be fine if it was just about human : the rabble of men wouldn't be able to comprehend the technology they stumble upon, and would only be able to use it when it's plug and play.

But there are tans-dimensional beeing that are said to be far above human level in terms of intelligence/schemes. Also there are still working AI's that are also far above human analytical potential. Not to mention eventual more intelligent species (either aliens of modified organism). All these outmatch human mind. There are beings that can comprehend this technology, and even use the reality altering device on their own.
When such beings have access to all these remnants of technology, it's safe to assume they won't shy from using it far more efficiently than human will. And the authors did say they will.This potentially means access to massive brain controlling waves : by mixing the different technology I listed above. This also means that they can distort reality that an extend where they modify events at their will...

So yes, a simple human is fucked in this situation. He can't even grasp (as the authors said) the schemes of these guys. That means he won't have any incidence whatsoever, ANY. Considering all the huge forces at work in this setting, I find it difficult to believe that humans aren't already enthralled in 10 of them.
Not to mention the fact that humanity is still here. After billions of year of advance, you would have expected them to evolve genetically and bionically. Hell even today we are already speaking about enhancing our strenght/lifespan... in less than 50 years (don't believe me faggot? well read nature science more often).

I don't see the point of playing in a setting where : 1. You shouldn't even logically exist as a primitive human organism anymore. 2. You aren't in control of anything and are moved like a pawns by all the other entities that have access to un-imagninable technology.



2. Magic was always a different kind of shit than physics. Try waving your hand in the hair while saying ''abrafuckingcadabra'' to see if a pink poney appears before you. Try finding a leprechaun at the foot of a rainbow. Try to jump from your apartment to see if you can fly spontaneously (please try this). Magic is by definition IRRATIONAL.
That is the whole point of magic : It's a force that is fucking IRRATIONAL. It's convenient to a point where it makes no sense in a rational universe. A whole universe law is build around the fact that if you say ''PAKABOBUBA'' a rainbow rider will appear from the plane of fishpond hell. That's why I say it's mysterious. It's random, ultra specific for no reason of all the different atoms structure in the universe,only human-like sound wave + written diagrams on a piece of paper make them work.


4. Why would they need too? Why the fuck are we supposed to know why? The author just said that they will interfere. At that point, everything said in my 1-3-5-8-9-10 answer can happen (and should logically happen.


7. What is a soul : BEST QUESTION EVER. Honestly of all the question that you asked, it's the only one that isn't stupid. In real life, there is no answer, unless of course you have one (go ahead, I'll have a good laugh). In a fantasy setting, the soul is basically your immaterial self : the immortal imprint of your basic self, your consciousness... This soul is able to travel to destination, and is basically what you can call ''myself'', your individuality.
Except in this case we are not sure if they'll give it a clear definition. So let's assume there is none.
I did used the world soul, but By soul I was meaning your consciousness, yourself as an individual, your thought patterns... I used it because I had no better word. Except maybe brain. But brain also means reflex, pain and automatism, which isn't one could call personality.
