Hun behaviour is very complicated in Attila. On top of the visible factors in their diplomacy screen, like hating Western Rome and targeting the leading faction, it's dictated by a lot of invisible scripts involving player strength, how many settlements they've razed in total, where your settlements are located in Europe and so on. As a general rule of thumb, they will try to target all of Eastern, Central, and Western Europe with their main forces, but will only send a handful of stacks to attack Hispania or Southern Thrace. Warriors of Chaos in Warhammer 1 had a much more straightforward script that mostly just beelined for the player, though this has been modified numerous times, particularly in later Mortal Empires patches for W2.

I don't remember the name of the mod. There's a well-known "No Cheats for AI" which was abandoned and then taken over by another modder - I don't think this specifically targets AI behaviour though, only the difficulty modifiers.

LOL, OMFG. Is anyone watching the Twitch stream?

    Confirmed:

Up to 40-unit Waagh armies (human controlled) + region/Legendary Lord specific army compositions (though mostly chaff)

Optional AI for reinforcing armies (so you don't have to control the 20-unit reinforcement chaff army)

'Scrap' unit upgrade system per unit (eg. click on one Orc Boyz unit, spend the resource, and upgrade specific aspects of that particular unit)

    Azhag has Karak Ungor start

Fightiness is a global resource (no more low level attrition) with various bonii depending on stage

    New Greenskin tech tree

    Updated Greenskin skill trees

    ***

The modding potential for the above is HOLY SHIT. Armour upgrade system, anyone? 40-unit armies for other factions?

40-unit armies have been possible since Empire with a quick save edit at the start of each new campaign. I don't see the point of adding even more units to Warhammer stacks since battles are already very micro-heavy.

40 unit armies would be awesome if Ui was scaled better to accommodate them, right now its a clusterfuck.

I think I heard that Imrik will be placed in the Dragon Isles near Malus. Malus' campaign is going to be even more goofy.

On a side note, I am playing the Wulheart campaign finally. I am surprised CA did not copy and paste that hostility meter for Malus, where his demonic corruption puts the Skaven and other enemies on notice.

they need to slow down the unit speeds, they run like benny hill. with some races like the dwarfs its hilarious to watch them get across the battlefield in seconds.

most of the new orc units are already in game with mods, and you can play with imrik also with mods.
since the orc rework is free there is no reason to buy the dlc.

Yea but do you actually use chariots in your armies? They require way too much micro for too little impact. The AI of course doesn't have that problem.

What confused me is I always thought war wagons as more of a kislev themed unit, Empire should have gotten these lovelies instead:

Otherwise thank goodness the greenskins are getting some love, maybe a campaign with them might actually be fun for a reason other then manually controlling doom divers.

Regarding the new units, can't say I'm excited for any of them but will allow me to flesh out my themed white lion and goblin armies so that's nice.

How is this relevant to TW:WH2, where it's not possible with a quick save edit at the start of each new campaign? If they introduced an editor-level capacity to import new models/animations, would you be like 'pfft, that's been there since Med 1'?

No one is suggesting this is revolutionary for the Total War franchise...

Bigger stacks for horde armies (in terms of lore, not the Horde factions in the game) > micro. If you're fighting Skaven/Orcs, you should be badly, badly outnumbered as the Elves or the Dwarves. Yet, you seldom are.

Neither the Pump Wagons nor the Rogue Idol is in any mod I'm aware of, and those are your headline new Greenskin units.

Certainly not the War Lions/WL Chariots, either. I agree that the LLs are available through Mixu (Grom isn't, but Eltharion/Imrik are, yes).

Yeah, spearmen in mail with shields pursuing your cav to the border of the map, this game has great moments like that.

IMO, the battles in this game got too fast since R2TW. It's definitely the moment when they thought : ok, we will never be able to program a smart AI, let's make this game about clicking stuff as fast as possible everywhere on the battle map.

I remember in RTW it was possible to create a wide battle changing effect by just untoggling the guard mode on your center phalanx units at the right moment. You could force a chain reaction in the center of the battlefront and sync that with the right cav flanking. Stuff like that. Minimum micromanagement serving a vision. Not mentioning the pleasure to take your time and watch the battle.

Of course the AI was shit, but RTW's PvP could be great. Especially modded, like Europa Barbarorum's multiplayer battles were the best. It was more about outsmarting your opponent than wanking your mouse like an epileptic premature ejaculator.

They are able to programm smart AI and whatever they want but that costs money and gives nothing in return.
Imagine the buttmad negative rewiews in steam about how " the gaem is dificult 0/10".
