When even Gideon "not a quitter, just stuck on twitter" Zhi raises an eyebrow at your translation, you might have problems. Also contains some interesting info on just what their patch is doing that causes BSNES et al to do a programmatic tableflip.

So, that means an ocean of comments like "finally its coming to the West", "Finally we can play it in English", as if all these people haven't played the fan-translation years ago

I imagine most are still oblivious to fan translations or, god forbid, having to apply patches for themselves.

Elaborate.
Original Mana trilogy is available digitally (in English) on the Switch.

Edit - Physical edition coming out in August it looks like. Didn't realize it was getting a physical release.
And the digital releases are simply ROMs?

As far as I know it's just the original ROMs. But there's also a remake of 3 due out early 2020 for PC, Switch, and PS4.

vgperson has translated the first two chapters of the freebie horror adventure Your Turn To Die -Death Game By Majority- (Kimi ga Shine in Japanese). It's basically a death game far crueler than the usual Dangan Ronpa fare. It also doesn't hold your hand all the time like those games and the protagonist is actually pretty competent from the get-go. The art style is pretty interesting, too. The only bad thing is that I can't unsee the death scenes.
Here's a meme comparison to DR I found. It's somewhat accurate despite being SJW tumblr shit +M

Does this mean there's still the annoying menu lag in SD3?

The same guy who translated Dead of the Brain threw out two extra translations;

Makyouden (PC-98)

1.png

"Escape From New York meets Inuyasha meets a walking tour of post-apocalyptic Kyoto in Makyouden (魔京伝), a game released for the PC-98 in 1992. With the visuals of a point and click adventure, the gameplay of a visual novel, and the story of a Shin Megami Tensei JRPG. It's got something for, uh, really only people who like stories and art. Sorry, gameplay folks. Now in English. "

And a game close to my heart,

Night Slave (PC-98)

Night_Slave_(PC-98)_10.png

"Broken Arrow meets Mechwarrior meets an X-Rated love triangle in Night Slave (ナイト・スレイブ) by Melody for the PC-98.

Once upon a time, a man played a mech shooter for the SNES called Assault Suits Valken (or Cybernator) and loved it. I must have more of this, he thought. I will make this exact game, but for the PC-98.

But all was not yet right. His game was not yet perfect. It still needed something...

Porn, he decided. Porn, nuclear politics, and a tragic love triangle. Yes, now Night Slave was complete."

Apparently making action games for the PC-98 was an absolute pain in the ass. I'd like to know if this is true, tho.

Guy deserves a medal. Can't comment on the quality of the work, but whatever. At least it ain't moonrunes and they are pretty as fuck.

Kurayami from Melody is a game that could only be made in Wapan.

You are stuck with cute gurl in elevator and can of course choose to immediately rape her.遷 Or do nothing. Or talk to her and let things develop naturally.

That's a pretty zen rape you're gonna be committing, with that soundtrack.
I cannot get over how good the Japanese are with pixel-art. That shit right there is very much my jam.

Aaaand apparently the guy translating Dead of the Brain, Makyouden and Night Slave is merely polishing a machine translation and going for the Patreonbucks.

(If we trust that the autism going on at /vr/ is right, of course).

Pity. Games looked pretty nice.

EDIT: No, I don't lift, nor I have any interest in legit learning moonrunes, sadly. Just learning German broke my brain, after all.
