[ Announcement ]

Worthplaying has word that Tropico 3 is in the works. Instead of original developer PopTop Software, this edition will be helmed by Haemimont Games, the folks behind Imperium Romanum and Glory of the Roman Empire.

Although there hasn't been any Tropico news since 2003's Tropico 2: Pirate Cove, German publisher Kalypso Media has acquired the Tropico license rights from Take Two, and has entered into a agreement with Haemimont Games, known for Imperium Romanum, to develop a new title in the strategy franchise. In Tropico, you play an all-powerful Pirate King, you must manage a 17th century band of buccaneers and keep them satisfied with drinking, wenching, gambling, feasting, and the best in pirate accommodations.

Thanks to WhiskeyWolf for the tip.
