Chapter 1:
We now head on back to Oleg's trading post. Sell some of the loot, including the emerald, we don't need to hold to on it, as there will be another opportunity to get another. The reason why an emerald is important is because it is required for a quest much later, but that isn't until later so we shouldn't worry about that. For now we rest, then buy. Here is what I will buy: 2 bark skin potions, 1 full plate armor, 2 shield of faith scrolls, 2 enlarge potions, and finally 10 light cure wounds potions.

We have a couple of things we can do here. We can either continue poking at specific areas for more loot and gold, or we can go and save one of our companions. I recommend saving one of the companions. As I have already gotten all the necessary gear and potions I will need. We will be aiming to save Harrim at the Ancient Tomb. Harrim is a great well rounded cleric, his only problem however is that he has crap DEX. But that is easily fixable by throwing a belt on him. By doing so we can qualify him for combat reflexes, which will be needed for AoO stacking.

Just in case you forgot where the location is at, here it is:
HnY02E7.jpg

So the Ancient Tomb can be brutal for early unfair, but we came prepared! First have your fighter and Valerie drink the bark skin potions. Next have Jaethal use the Shield of Faith scrolls on both you and Valerie. Afterwards, have Jaethal cast guidance on everyone. Then have Jaethal cast bless, if you didn't pick this spell up on her level 2 inquisitor level up, then that's fine. No big deal. Once your done, have her cast divine favor on herself. Finally, have your main character quaff an enlarge potion. Double check that Jaethal and Amiri have their reach weapons equipped. Also make sure Amiri's rage ability is selected. When the fight does start make sure you have Jaethal's inquisitor ability "Justice" selected.

Now, this going to require a bit of a breakdown, so bear with me here.

Send Valerie in, have her initiate the fight. Send your fighter in after the archer from the sides, depending on how high your initiative roll was you can possibly go for a charge on the archer. Have Valerie move towards the incoming melee enemy. Have Amiri and Jaethal collapse on the incoming melee user that Valerie is moving towards to. Now clench them cheeks and pray.. Sorry, but this fight is dependent on so many factors. If Harrim dies on the first melee attack, Jaethal and Amiri are fucked. If Valerie gets one shotted by the incoming melee fighter that she is supposed to keep distracted, then your all fucked. If your fighter fails to kill the archer upon the first hit, then your fucked. Unfortunately this fight is just unfun on unfair, and will take a couple of tries.
wbkrQLm.jpg
Took a couple of tries
kgQQxB7.jpg

After you're done, leave the Tomb, then do the storybook event. Depending on your rolls, you may or may not pass them. I managed to succeed on all of them. If you failed them, you may need to search for the Pine Patch area manually. The encounter at this area is pretty easy, you are going to face a couple of kobolds. Shouldn't be too difficult, but since it's unfair, you never know. Anyways, make sure you first recover some HP. Then have your fighter drink an enlarge potion. After that, have Valerie move forward. Pull everyone back, then have them all charge. Like so:
oCsoN2y.png
phew
6mBIf2w.jpg

Make sure you explore the entire area for some loot before leaving. By the way, here is the location of the area in case you failed all the story book checks after leaving the tomb:
rjm14dG.jpg

This concludes this part of the guide. If you find yourself struggling, remember that sometimes you just need to reload a few times. A good roll can make a huge difference.

interesting. I never kill any of the wild animals, like elk. Seems like a dick move, they are just standing there. I have thought to farm them for meat, but its never been needed. I guess when we hunt this is what is happening. I have thought it sort of sucks we don't get the EXP for the hunting when this happens.,,,but still can't bring myself to just run up and slaughter the elk just grazing and ignoring me.

Chapter 1:
Continuing from where we left off. Now that we have access to old reliable Harrim, things should ease down a bit. We are next going to make our way around the North Narlmarches. We have to recruit another companion, as we are still not ready for Thorn Ford. Unfortunately, I triggered a story book event while resting on the world map. This specific story book event will trigger the "Riverbed Nightmare" quest. If you don't get to Nettle's Crossing the main character will have to constantly deal with the fatigue state. By the way, it is worth mentioning that the random encounters near Oleg's trading post are super easy to do. A solid means of grinding experience, but do care, you are on a time limit to eliminate the infamous Stag Lord.

Nettle's Crossing location:
xJEihCH.jpg

Loot the area then speak to this guy, he is right next to the house, a bit down hill:
tLNiys2.jpg

Pick option 4
HhafI7L.jpg

Pick option 3
tLKXhO3.jpg

Once you have finished that business up, we are going back to the North Narlmarches. I managed to get the story book event triggered upon entering that region, if you are not as lucky as I was, simply wander a bit around the region, you should eventually get the event.

I don't recommend fighting them
jP6RVTG.jpg

Give them one of your companions instead
yLmMmGu.jpg

After giving them one of your companions, make sure you check the area for loot. Once you leave the area there will be a story book event to track them down. If you pass or lose the checks, it doesn't matter. The game will still tell you where they are at.
Location:
EZRW45y.jpg

When you enter the area, make sure you first go up on the right side, like so:
BfsFLtW.jpg

Grab Valerie, place her into sneak, then place her in a position like so:
qRZeoDx.jpg

Eventually a lone archer should show up, once he does, aggro him with Valerie then pull her back.
3PC5JUS.jpg

When you have the archer far away from the camp, grab your team, then charge on the archer.
tI0jljP.jpg

If all went according to plan you should have killed the archer without alerting the swordsman that is resting. Now for the easy part, grab your team then have them collapse on the swordsman. You could try sneaking and charge him in, but that didn't work for me. As he was able to spot me. Make sure you prebuff with Bless + True Strike +Divine Favor + Guidence + Shield of Faith. As the swordsman is tough on unfair.
GRvNcLh.jpg

Free your companion, then go back to the path you came from. This time go to the left side, like so:
rc74VUW.jpg

Get all the way over here, then go up.
RwybDXu.jpg

Aggro these two people then pull them back.
zeXQnZf.jpg

This might take a couple of tries. You are trying to pull them back, then charge on the swordsman, eventually making your way to the mage. Mage might take a while, as he likes to spam the spell "Cause Fear".
Splat goes the swordsman
bosIUY9.jpg

Once your done with that fight. Heal up, and prebuff with guidance, then have all of your units charge on Kalannah. It is imperative that she goes down. If she doesn't go down immediately, she will spam you with summons.
0JxL55j.jpg

Collapse on the archer next
GX03OgM.jpg

Now collapse on the mage woman
BcbKH8l.jpg

If everything went well, then you should have successfully cleared that entire camp. Remember it's unfair, it might take a couple of tries. Anyways, you should now have a full party of 6. This marks the end of this part of the guide.

By the way, the reason as to why I didn't rescue the NPCs, is because they are unreliable. Both Reg and Octavia are not invincible. If they go down, then they are out of action. That doesn't mean that they are permanently dead, it just means that they won't be able to contribute to the fight when going down. Since it's unfair it is quite easy for one of them to sustain a major critical hit to the face.

Chapter 1:
Now that we have a full party of 6. We can either try our luck at Thorn Ford, or we can poke at certain areas for easy experience. Since I am still level 2 at this point of the game, I am going to try to poke at some areas for easy experience. I will show you these areas hopefully that will be enough to get to level 3. Before doing anything, head on back to Oleg's trading post. There is another quest waiting for us there. It should be a quest to kill Tuskgutter. Accept the quest, however be aware that we can't do that quest just yet. For now rest to regain HP. You should also look at your equipment situation. I recommend equipping Harrim and Amiri with reach weapons. Amiri has crapstic AC, and can not wear heavy armor. Harrim also has crappy AC. These two should be far away from close ranged melee. Since Jaethal is undead it doesn't matter if she dies, so you can safely equip her with the masterwork scythe she originally came with back in the prologue area. Just be aware that healing her might an issue. You should also switch out Valerie's Tower Shield with a Medium one. As Tower Shield induces penalties, this penalty is mitigated when you reach level 3 in Tower Shield Specialist. Make sure Valerie has the full plate armor piece equipped. Make sure your Two Handed Fighter MC has the Half Plate armor piece equipped. Buy a couple of potions too before leaving, specifically a couple of bark skin potions, and some cure light wound potions as well. Also, make sure you bring along Octavia. She has a couple of spells that are very useful, specifically the enlarge spell, and the color spray spell. These spells are very potent for the early game. Color spray can put enemies out of action, or induce the effect "Blind" on them, very useful. Enlarge can be used on high STR users, like our two handed fighter MC, however it does induce a penalty to DEX, therefore affecting AC. However, that shouldn't be too big a deal, just always send Valerie first, before committing the Two Handed Fighter.

Okay, now to show you one of the areas I will go to first.
Ew4Zx7u.jpg

After entering the area grab your team then put them into sneak mode and place them here:
fpKsw3b.jpg

Next you are going to prebuff. Enlarge spell on the MC + Bless + Shield of Faith on both Valerie on yourself + Guidance + Divine Favor on Jaethal + Reduce Person on Octatvia (She should have that scroll, simply cast it on her). Make sure you have Amiri's rage selected. Also don't forget to select Jaethal's inquisitor ability "Justice" when the fight starts. Once you get through all of that, you are then going to grab your units have them charge the boggards, like so (Make sure you turn sneak mode off, otherwise it will limit the range of charge):
hFKNRJv.jpg

First boggard should have went down, immediately pause then have all of your units collapse on the next boggard.
mnfhgaO.jpg

Once he goes down have your units rush the third boggard. Bring Octavia forward and have her cast color spray, then follow up with scorching ray(You should have this scroll within your inventory).
pgeggvs.jpg
Phew
ikiN6Zh.jpg

If all went according to plan they should be dead. If not, you might need to retry a couple of times. Further up the map there is a group of boggards waiting for us.
eyqif0E.png

This fight will be somewhat of a challenge as it has a brute. Before we engage prebuff with guidance, divine favor, and then have Valerie and yourself quaff down some bark skin potions. Next you are then going to send a companion to the left handed side of the screen. The purpose for doing this is to aggro the two boggards. So something like this:
prH2xL4.jpg

The main team is going to then aggro the boggard close to them. While doing so that boggard is going to attempt to perform an AoE fear, which is what you want. Bait the AoE fear spell, then have your units charge em down.
cxZOFJC.jpg

Make sure you don't forget the lone companion, as they should be running around the map keeping those two boggards occupied.
I1DjsnE.jpg

While that companion is kiting the boggards around take the time to recover HP. Once you have situated yourself grab your units and bring them an inch close to the boggards. Depending on how close you brought them, one of the boggards might perform an AoE fear. By doing this the boggard will unintentionally split himself from the other one.
Pg6DIwM.jpg

Now grab your units and charge that lone boggard down. In the meantime don't forget to keep the other one distracted.
B3ZRvhL.jpg

Once that boggard goes down charge the remaining one down. This might take a few tries. There is some RNG involved in the aggro pull. Sometimes you can pull two away safely, other times you can only pull one away. Ideally you want to pull two. Then have your units charge down the solitary boggard after baiting his AoE fear. You could also have Octavia pelt them down with acid splash while you kite them around.

That took a couple of minutes :)
K5VWgnk.jpg

Still no level 2, but that is okay. This concludes this part of the guide.

Chapter 1:
Clearing the Boggard Hunting Ground should have given you access to a potion of aid, this will be very important. Head back to Oleg's trading post and buy a couple of bark skin potions. Afterward, go to Octavia's spell book and fill it up with color spray and one enlarge spell, then rest. We are now going to attempt to slay Tuskgutter.

Go to the area where Tuskgutter is at.
sGQvaVb.jpg

When you enter the area Amiri is going to talk to you.
Pick option 3
e8wjbPG.jpg
Pick option 3
10C44FD.jpg
Pick option 2
BMIGV3Y.jpg

Once you get through that crap a cut scene will ensue. Profusely slam the pause button until you successfully paused the game. Once the game has been paused, pull Amiri back. Then prebuff with Bless + Divine Favor + Guidance + Shield of Faith + Enlarge + True Strike + Have Valerie and yourself quaff down a couple of Bark Skin potions + Have yourself quaff down that potion of aid. Make sure you have Amiri's rage ability selected. Make sure you select Jeathal's inquisitor ability "Justice" when the fight starts. Turn Valerie's "Fighting Defensively" on. After you're done grab your team and move them to an area that is close to Tuskgutter, like so:
8CGBdCi.jpg

Grab your units then charge. Grab Octavia then have her cast color spray.
hxzHxVK.jpg
It took me one try to kill him :P
KtM8JY1.jpg

Very close to level 3!
VEpryot.jpg

Head back to Oleg and turn the quest in. Upon doing that you should turn level 3! And that is basically my pathing for early unfair. I'm sure there are better pathings, but this is the one that I use for my playthroughs. In early unfair the level 3 power spike is tremendous! As it sets us up to do Thorn Ford and the Swarms for Bokken's quest. In any event that is the end of this part of the guide.

Game was a mess on release but it is perfectly fine now. It is the best rpg relesead in recent years. You can disable kingdom management from settings if it frustrates you also.

Chapter 1:
Now that we are level 3 we can go to Thorn Ford. It's very important we go to this area because it gives us access to Jhod. Jhod sells scrolls. Scrolls that we need. Don't forgot to buy some bark skin potions before leaving!

Location:

ylcd0Zo.jpg

Once you enter the place, there is a couple of things you ought to do. First prebuff with Bless + Divine Favor + Shield of Faith + Enlarge + Quaff down Bark Skin potions on both Valerie and yourself + Guidance on everyone. Once you're finished with that, turn Valerie's "Fighting Defensively" on. Make sure you have Amiri's rage selected. Remember to turn Jaethal's inquisitor ability "Justice" on when the fight begins.

Ok! Now to get to the bandit encounters. I couldn't find any good choke points that I liked, so we will fight out in the open. Grab your team and put them here:
iJ6Ru92.jpg

Grab Valerie and bring her to the encampment where Kressle is at.
TMF14ba.jpg
Pick option 4
kyEMZyp.jpg

Game will automatically pause for you when combat starts. This gives me the opportunity to talk about this specific encounter. In this encounter there will be three ranged users. One of which will be in a high place, a place in which your melee users can not reach. So what we are going to do is initiate with Valerie then pull her back. By doing so we force that ranged user off of his high spot. As soon as you have Kressle within sight. Grab your units then have them charge Kressle down.
EOX5TWo.jpg

After you rush her down, grab your units then have them collapse on the remaining melee users.
SaKJ4pi.jpg
Splat goes the bandit :)
z64FbTS.jpg

Finish off the rest of the bandits. It might take a couple of tries, but that's unfair for you. Here are some things you need to do after clearing the encampment:
Talk to Jhod
8C2iJWx.jpg
Pick either option 2 or 3, it really doesn't matter
p8cqhXw.jpg
Don't forgot to loot all of the contents in this chest, very important you do that.
OjtJvtC.jpg
Interact with this
xPt7SEB.jpg
MbnAHXd.jpg
Pick option 2
97sg7hd.jpg

If you failed the roll checks for poisoning the wine, don't sweat it. One last encounter before we leave. Come to this spot:
WS4qhDn.jpg

Grab Valerie, have her go forward.
ZLMnHSX.jpg

After you get her aggro'ed pull her back to where the team is at. Then have the team charge the enemy down. Like so:
Cfzhvi8.jpg

Once he is dead grab your units then fall back. The remaining bandit will be troublesome as he is situated on a high place.
1uWAC4v.jpg

But that is okay grab your units and position them in a spot that is far away from the ranged user. Depending on how far away you are, he should leave his high spot, thus putting him on ground level. Which gives your melee users the opportunity to rush him down, and that should be about it.
This is a good spot to have your units fall back to
T9eMiEl.jpg

You could also try putting all of your team mates as far back as you can. Then initaite with Valerie and bring her all the way back. Depending on how far you pulled the aggro, the archer will drop down to ground level. Example:
BUJ1teV.jpg
YNkR1cV.jpg
HlAtD8u.jpg

Loot the area then leave. Head back to Oleg's trading post and turn in Svetlana's ring. In the next part we are going to attempt swarms. I know swarms are optional, but I want to prove a point :)

Chapter 1:
Back at Oleg's trading post buy the following: 1 Delay poison communal scroll, 3 Bark Skin potions, 40 Fire Bombs, 6 rations, and 20 Acid Bombs. Go to Octavia's spell book, make sure she has 1 enlarge, 3 color sprays, and 1 sleep. Go to Harrim's spell book. Make sure he has 2 shield of faith spells, 1 true strike, and 1 remove fear spell. Go to page 2, make sure he has 1 bull's strength, 1 lesser restoration, and 1 boneshaker. This will be the load out that we will be using.

Now to fight them swarms! On to Fangberry Cave we go!
5iMJtNd.jpg

When you enter the area immediately go down the hill, like this:
s5wCJ8E.jpg

Upon doing so, you should come across come deer. Murder them! On the left side of the deer are some Lizards, murder those too! Loot the area then enter the cave. Place the team here:
DTVRjOP.jpg

Prebuff, this encounter is brutal on unfair. Here are the spells that I will be prebuffing with: Bless + Shield of Faith + Bull's Strength + Enlarge + Bark Skin potions + Divine Favor + Guidance.

Send Valerie out.
me89P8e.jpg

After attracting aggro pull her back. Then have the team charge the spiders down. This narrow area makes for a good choke point as it forces the spider to attack you one by one, worst case scenario you will have to deal with two spiders attacking at the same time. Much better than the alternative. As the alternative is you being surrounded with multiple spiders attacking at all sides.
JuelwBx.jpg

Once you're done with that, grab the team and position them here:
RyM9TPY.jpg

Send Valerie out then pull aggro back. You want to funnel the spiders through that narrow gap, as it forces them to come one at a time. Like so:
AxvF52X.jpg

After you're done grab the berries. Requires a nature roll though, you can retry it multiple times until you get it.
grXAIb6.jpg

We're not done though. We still have swarms to go through! First heal up. Then equip everyone with those fire bombs, acid bombs are back ups in case we run out. Everyone should have 5 fire bombs each. Next cast the delay poison communal scroll. Now send Valerie out, except this time don't pull her back. Valerie is going to stay put and force the swarms on her. While the swarms are on top of her, have everyone throw bombs at her, including Valerie.
GVZSzll.jpg

Once your done with that swarm, clean up the remaining spiders. Loot this body it has a wand that we will need.
XbrvnFC.jpg

Recover any health that was lost and repeat the same tactic above. Send Valerie in and have her stay put as the swarms and spiders rush her. Have one of your melee fighters charge the first spider that is attacking Valerie, this however depends on how far away the swarms are. If the swarms are close to Valerie, you might need to wait a few. Basically, you want to kill the first spider while the swarms are further away. Then pull everyone back while leaving Valerie behind. This will free up the amount of enemies that will be attacking her. Every once in a while send Harrim out to heal her with the wand that you looted from the body earlier. If Valerie does happen to die, I suggest sending the person with the second highest AC to off tank. You can also send Jaethal in if you want. However, that is only in the worst case scenario. If Valerie goes down, then shit has officially hit the fan!

Remember to keep Harrim on healing duty. It is imperative that he doesn't let Valerie die. Since this is unfair AND on the early levels, you are at the whims of RNG. You can also try resting in the cave with rations in order to refresh your buffs. When the swarms are close to dying, you can tell by there being less and less swarms attacking which is indicated by the outline of the swarms, you can stall in order to heal Valerie. Basically let Valerie continue taking damage while you heal her with Harrim.

Sometimes the spiders will get stuck and only come at Valerie one at a time. Sometimes your units will not throw the bombs even if you selected the swarms. Simply move your cursor to the side around the target until the outline of the little spider swarms is shown then select the fire bombs and then throw it. The units will now throw the bombs.

Banzai Valerie!
Mh0pfGH.jpg

Huzzah! Now it's just a matter of cleaning up!
zTQIP9o.jpg

The narrow gap between you and the spiders makes for a perfect choke point. Keep and stay in the position, and the spiders will come at you one by one
nQm3Xpe.jpg

Almost there!
326TbPs.jpg

Once you finish through don't forgot to loot!
cutKG1S.jpg

It might take a couple of tries though, as the swarms are brutal on unfair. That about summarizes this part of the guide.

Just to reiterate, swarms are going to take a couple of tries. So don't feel frustrated. Fighting them at level 3 while on unfair is going to be tough. The loot you get out of this encounter is not worth it though. I just wanted to prove a point.

Chapter 1:
After you're done with the swarms head on back to Oleg's trading post. Turn in Bokken's quest. Then rest. If you looted that chest that I told you about back in Thorn Ford, then you should have this item:
PhQIEdt.jpg

This item unlocks this area:

O3kMIOz.jpg

When you enter the area green lettuce lady will tell you to follow her. Do as she says. You will see apparitions of the Stag Lord and his abusive father.

Down this area is two wolves.
D1QyO6U.jpg

Send Valerie in first, pull back, then have the team charge the wolves down. Make sure you prebuff first, this one is a doozy on unfair. Spells I prebuffed with: Bless + Shield of Faith + Bull's Strength + Enlarge + Guidance.

Dead wolves! Took me a couple of tries though.

Continue exploring the area. Eventually you should meet green lettuce lady.

We're not done just yet! Over to our left side there is a wolf and a chest.

Bait the wolf out with Valerie then run him down! After dealing with that wolf, go to the chest. Ahh but the chest is empty, isn't it? There's a secret! Place one herb into the chest. Then exit out of the chest menu. Upon doing so, loot will appear!
Rg3gnzq.jpg
80G01mb.jpg
Now open the chest!
iK1YIsJ.jpg

That about marks the end of this part. Leave the area then head on back to Oleg's trading post. There will be some things we need to buy first, then after that, we will prepare for the Old Sacymore. I will cover Old Sacymore in the next part. Also, I will be saving the Temple of the Elk until after finishing the Old Sacymore.

Ahh, back to Oleg's trading post. Home. A reprieve from the horrors that await us. I will miss this silence.. This peace...

Ok! Enough dilly dallying! We have to stock up on supplies and modify our spell books! Here is our shopping list: 16 rations, if you already have those then ignore, 1 delay poison communal, 1 protection from acid communal, 1 protection from fire communal. Afterwards go to the chest next to the beds, here:
jYV7yHI.jpg

Dump off all your excess loot in there. Keep the potions and scrolls though. Here's what my inventory looks like after reorganzing. The reason as to why we are doing this is because there is a lot of loot to be had in the Old Sacymore, so much so that we don't want it to weigh us down. We want to get as much of the loot as we can, as there will be no plans to return once we finish our business there. Remember we are on a timer to defeat the Stag Lord.

Next we are going to go through the spell books for both Octavia and Harrim. For Octavia we want 2 enlarge spells, 2 color sprays, and 1 sleep. For Harrim we are going to want 1 true strike, 2 shield of faiths, and 1 remove fear. For page 2, we want one bone shaker, and 2 restoration lesser. After you're done, rest in order to refresh the spells.

For companions we are taking Valerie, Jaethal, Octavia, and finally Amiri. The reason as why I am taking Amiri over Reg, is because the old girl has grown on me, and I like having her around.

Afterwards we are going to check our gear situation. Octavia won't need any weapons, as she will be spamming her acid/ray of frost cantrips. Make sure Amiri has a reach weapon equipped. A reach weapon is basically a weapon that can attack from 6ft. Make sure Harrim also has a reach weapon equipped. Depending on how you leveled Valerie, if she has level 3 in TSS, you can safely equip her with the tower shield; if she does not, then that is fine, simply have her equip a medium shield. Jaethal can remain having the scythe equipped.

Once all is said and done make your way to Old Sacymore.

Upon entering the area, Kesten will approach you. Declaring your innocence and condemning Tartuccio. Great for us, bad for the purple toad.
Pick option 4 (You can pick the other options if you want to hear lore)

Up ahead there will be pack of kobolds and mites arguing.
Pick option 1
vwOhrCk.jpg

You will then be presented with a set of opportunities. You can choose to side with one side, kill them all, or side with neither if you're neutral. Since my character is chaotic neutral and this is unfair, I am going to murder them all, I don't want stinky monsters inhabiting my soon to be kingdom! Author's warning: By doing this you will unintentionally make the game far harder than it should. I can not emphasize this enough! If you are neutral pick the neutral option that is available. If you are not neutral, side with the kobolds over the mites. As the kobolds are far harder to deal with than the mites. Otherwise do NOT choose to go against both parties. Unless! You want a challenge. But I do NOT recommend that.

Pick option 9 and let the chaos ensue!

All over the map there will be mites vs kobold skirmishes. There won't be any tactical play involved in those encounters, as I'll be waiting for them to off each other, then finishing off whatever stranglers remain. Instead, I will be highlighting side encounters, quests, and whatever else you need to be made aware of.

There will be a quest to be had here:

Come over to this area of the map, then pass the mobility check for some loot:

If you failed the check like I did, then just leave it. No point save scumming that. As there will be more loot to be had later. Besides, I don't really enjoy save scumming roll checks, it makes for an unfun experience, in my opinion.

Some tatzlwyrms around here.

Charge them down, mow them down. I suggest prebuffing... They kicked my butt a few times... Prebuff spells are: Bless + Shield of Faith + True Strike.
Blessed I am, here I am:

Over yonder there is a bandit camp:

Beware the traps!

After you have successfully disarmed the traps, bring your melee units and set them into position, like so:

Pause the game then issue each melee unit to perform a Coup de Grace on the sleeping bandits.

WAKEY WAKEY SHAKEY BAKEY!

Collapse on the remaining survivors.

There is a side area here, pass the check and you'll come face to face with some tough mites, survive through it and you will get your hands on some nice loot.

Tarter sauce! I have failed the check... But still made the jump over. I suppose succeeding means you don't take any damage, whatever! One shan't look a gift horse in the mouth! We take what we get in this reality that is unfair!

Some tough mites there.

Initiate with Valerie then pull back. There is a nice choke point here:
FP8B6lw.jpg

When your done with that, loot the chest. Be aware that the chest does require a trickery check.

Over in the upper region of the map is this abandoned camp.

As much as I would love to, we can not do this encounter. I forgot to buy resist electricity scrolls :( Another time if I remember.

I wanted to share this neat critical I did.
Are you feeling it now, Mr. Krabs?

Ahh the majestic megaloceros. Standing ever proud, standing ever elegant. Truly, a beast worth marveling!

Tip! If you are in need of rest, do so on the world map. As the chances of you getting ambushed is quite high when your in the Old Sacymore.

Over and yonder there is a worg named Grarrukh. He offers a quest. Feed him living beings, and ever happy he shall be. In other words, we are going to do just that.

After you are done with that exchange you are going to head to these two areas:

h5PjdSe.jpg

Head back to the worg and collect that fat PHAT experience, you little devil you. Grarrukh will tell you a secret, of a chest that is buried close to a lone tree. Reference:
qLPhshn.jpg

Don't open that chest. For it is forbidden! No really DON'T open that chest. Don't even attempt to disarm the trap of that chest. For the chest is infused with a deadly spell that will one shot you. Stupid worgs and their stupid tricks. In another time we will come back for the worg's head. We are too weak to confront it, for now.

Last optional encounter is shambling mound. We can't fight that one, I didn't come prepared with the right spells for it. So we will have to save that one for later as well.

Finally, to conclude this segment of the guide, we have two ways in which we can enter the Old Sacymore. Through the kobold's passage, or through the mite's passage. Kobold's passage is pretty challenging content, so instead we will be entering through the mite's passage. On the next part of the guide we shall delve into the god forsaken depths of the Old Sacymore.

That's a wrap, folks!
