Collaboration between Falcom, Konami and Irem Engineering. Full game library is still TBA.

What is the obsession with hipsters wanting to play gaming systems that were around before they were even born?

I don't think any younger person knows about the Turbografx, much less wants to buy one. As for myself, I was the weird kid with a Master System when everyone else owned the NES :P

I'd want Order of the Griffon, Military Madness, Splatterhouse, and then I'd give absolutely no fucks about the rest.

No Moto Rotor, no Neutopia, No Keith Courage, and American audiences are being screwed out of Rondo of Blood. Also wtf Alien Crush, but no Devil's Crush? This is total rubbish.

Agreed. Order of the Griffon would make this a day-one purchase for me. I almost bought a second-hand TG16 a few months ago just to play it.

PC Engine has one of the greatest game libraries of all time, but I can't see this thing working at all. No Bonk? No Rondo of Blood (in the US)? Where's Bloody Wolf? Where's Last Alert and Final Zone 2 (US versions ONLY because the horrible voice acting is so iconic)? It better at least have Splatterhouse and the Neutopia games.

Order of the Griffon was perfectly playable on an emulator as early as in Windows 98 times, I don't get it what the fuss is about.

I played Turbografix 16 at a friend's house back when I had a Genesis before the SNES came out. I remember the shit controller (compared with the great ergos of the Genesis controller) but the very colorful graphics. Also, games on thin little cards! I wanted one, but knew to hold out for a SNES.

I remember emulating it last century and thinking it deserved to die.

This is useless because all the best PC Engine games stayed in Japan.

It's nice to see the TG16 getting some attention. The system had some great games, especially shmups. But since I already own one I probably won't be jumping on the bandwagon to get one of these things because like most of these miniaturized console releases, the game selection, aside from some good titles, is severely lacking.

It seems like the hype behind these mini consoles is dead as fuck. Also, wasn't this kind of a shit console anyway? It seems like that's the repuatation anyway. Seems like a flop in the making

The console was fine, it was the backing behind it and the marketing that was questionable. IIRC it had no official launch in Europe, so the European market was mostly (if not entirely) held up by third-party vendors.

Mah support of commercial developers (I think with these retro-mini consoles this is especially amusing, since none of the original developers will see a penny of this)
