Tyranny + Bastard's Wound Expansion Thread

Well, I've never heard of anyone posing those questions ever. Everytime Tyranny comes up the first question is always about Kyros' gender. You even have conversations with Tunon about Kyros' gender (pretty weird thing to even ask about). Even MacLean reinforces this right at the end of the stream.

It's really weird for you to tell me this, because these are questions that arise during the game, so I'm not sure what to tell you.

Kyros's gender is a mystery, but ultimately it doesnt matter. The character said nobody knows and it doest chance anything. The fact kyros power is real and it influence alot of people is real.

Nobody in game is making a big deal about kyros' gender. They are at most only wondering and have their own preferences of kyros gender

 

Exactly. Why then can you even ask Tunon about it, multiple times? Why does MacLean seem try to force it as a sort of meme at the end of the stream?

 

They'll pull a Revan and voila; player is Kyros cos it makes sense that player can be any gender, mindblown.gif right? Or they'll twist it a bit; will say that Kyros' wife/husband/child killed self, saying; "I don't wanna live in the world you ruined" and Kyros had made a self counterpoint by stripping self from divine powas and granting them to player, but still retaining his/her kingdoms-armies etc. By the end player will fuck up half the world no matter what and Kyros' prev actions will be justified, he'll say: "It wasn't me it was the powas!" Then player will have a choice to execute him or not anyways. Roll credits...if Pdx were to fund a sequel that is.

Regardless of Kyros being a woman or not being a woman, I'm going to buy this and I'm going to play this. I bought that Tales from the Tiers bullshit, and haven't even played it.

I'd much rather do cool things, like sex a woman, or buy a nice lettuce, but it is what it is and we are what we are.

 

Nobody cares about those questions,i didn't remember any of them until i saw your post mate.Even in their marketing the biggest question was what gender Kyros is.Oh and the answer of all your questions is ....lazy writing.For a good mystery the writer must build the whole world and the mystery in his mind.After that he begins to unveil clues for the player.While this guys are just adding shit along the way.The worst part of tranny is its writing.Even a guy like me,that have a ton of bad spelling ratings can find misspellings.

 

I don't get how the game with a really short and unsatisfying third act and a dud ending has a mid game expansion but well okay sure I guess

Is it just me being overly traditional or is selling CRPGs to people with something like community streams such an odd decision? We saw this with original game's release where Paradox' grand marketing strategy was to send out copies to famous Twitch streamers and let them play the game for an hour or so. People who generally had no interest in RPGs and were clearly just doing it for a paycheck. This one is at least Paradox hosted and has relevant people starring.

 

It's a problem with marketing a game like this, AAA bullshit can easily be marketed by filling the trailer up with vapid one-liners and MOAR EXXXTREME EXXXPLOSIONS, and maybe dragons. GTA V didn't even have its name on the posters. How do you present an isometric RPG so you can appeal to as many people as humanly possible without being sued for false advertising, though? The most ready answer, it seems, is sending copies to "famous" Twitch streamers, streamers who have no idea what to do or how to play a cRPG.

 

Paradox is known to send early access copies to their toadies, never anyone who might say bad things about their games or DLC. Normies of course don't know that.

 

It's not just you, though at least they have the voice actors joining the stream this time around instead of just devs playing the game and reading out loud whatever happens on the screen.
I would count the current media blitz as part of Paradox's marketing plan though which is also a nice addition.

 

Well it is not a bad idea,but it is stupid to make it the whole marketing campaign.They should have gone after rpg forums and community spaces.For fuck say 4chan and reddit have more purchasing power than youtube,twitch and tweeter.Paradox's PR department is total shit,they even managed to review tank their flag shit EU4.

Yeah there are a few other grand strategies,but they have shitty UI,and feel far too much like board games.

 

So, anyone planning to buy the expansion and play it tomorrow? After the not so great base game I think I'll pass and read the comments of those who try the dlc.

 

Even a good expansion is not going to fix a fundamentally shit base game, case in point - PoE. MotB is a curious exception, but it's not mid-game content and it doesn't "fix" the OC, it replaces it.
