Fast-paced real time action on the strategic level? Battles are turn-based. They've already forfeited the sales to the ADD kiddies. Why the mindless copycat marketing babble?

What are you on about, ADD kids?

UFO:ET is a 99% copy of XCOM1 with 3D graphics. If you liked XCOM gameplay you will like UFO:ET.

Yay! It's unfortunate that the most likely scenario is that UFO:E has moved from potential vaporware to hopelessly bugged and clusterfucked dumpware.

That was my worry too. It is usually what happens when something slips like that repeatedly. It is either butchered and most of the things that made the original vision cool are cut to get it working reasonably well or it is a buggy and frustrating mess.

I really should add multiple pages to that gallery...

So is this going to be worth getting? I wouldn't mind an updated X-Com that I can play without DOSBox and sound issues.

I am waiting for the demo and someone else to make the final plunge for this one.

Your words in God's ear, really.
I'd -kill- for a game that plays like XCOM. It's unsurpassed so far.

Art direction is terrible. Sad to say but the original had more "atmosphere" in the visual department.

And that's where I, the known graphics whore, have to give up. The only reason to play a new XCOM-esque game is a graphics update. The gameplay already was perfect in XCOM1, after all. I'll stick to that.

I like the cartoonic-futuristic art style that I've seen so far in screenshots.I prefer it to realistic graphix .Don't forget that X-com1 had the same style.
As to how good teh graphiks look I'll wait till I play the game, but I am pretty satisfied up to now.

I don't like the idea of 3d mixed with sprites, but oh well I'll wait and see.

  16. ToEE and The Sims both use mixed 3D and sprites.

I can't get my copy of XCom to work right in Windows XP.

Let me clarify. I don't like 3d terrain with 2d sprites, unless it's anime-style, or Myth(which was kind of anime style, and was so good that I didn't mind the graphic style). So I'm going to wait and see.
