I'm more interested on what the characters do rather than generic elevator opinions they might have, Nines was an enemy of the prince because he was an anarch and he opposed the prince because on vampire society, the princes have random arbitrary powers like when Lacroix decided to murder your sire for breaking Camarilla rules. The fact that he hates capitalism has zero to do with the story of the game and is just one random opinion from him. If I had to watch Nines leading a worker rally or other bullshit like that as if he was a mortal and out of the kindness of his heart, I would vomit out of disgust. Nines is a vampire and he has interests of a vampire despite his opinions.

Besides, the whole problem isn't what is inside the game but what is outside the game, when Bloodlines was released, there weren't communist hate mobs ruining careers because communism was wrongly represented and that offended them. I felt the anarchs were pretty cool, I disagree 100% will Nines bullshit but he is a real sounding character that I just disagree, he has his opinions but the game isn't getting out of its way to make you agree with him . What I fear is that this social media witch hunt and digital lynch mobs might force creators to make characters to sound phony to push some points of view on a forced positive light and that is different than just having a character that believes on communism, saying his opinions when you ask him.

 

It's also pretty common for the quality of a script to deteriorate in proportion to the number of writers that have worked on it and the number of studio notes incorporated into the revisions.

Basically, for a larger writer room to work, you need a very strong head writer/show runner who insures that the resulting content both meets their quality standards and fits the theme/vision for the show.

IMO, that's a lot harder to do with games, where there's so much more writing.
