I started doing a Let's Play Icewind Dale on the Obsidian Pillars of Eternity Backer Beta forums to showcase how combat in Icewind Dale felt in comparison to Pillars of Eternity, ended up being a full blown thing. Unfortunately Doppelschwert complained to a moderator that the thread was in the wrong section and Gorth or Gorgon moved it to the Computer and Console GD forum on the OE and it's no longer getting any views.

So for Shameless Self Promotion I thought I'd post a thread here.

    Details
Icewind Dale only (HoW and TotL installed but not playing them)
800x600 Resolution (and thus 480p video)
    Didn't record character generation
    Following Mods installed:
HQ Music, HQ Movies, 1PP IWD Fixes, components of Auril's Bane, G3 Dale Tweaks and IWD Fixpack.

As of this post I've just entered Wyrm's Tooth.

Now unfortunately for most people here this is a popamole Youtube Let's Play, rather than a tr00 kvlt written Let's Play in the Codex's preferred style.

Here's the full youtube playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLIRfCmyR7ijJU11xQVn2SXIwmeuajTkom

In the Let's Play I try to not abuse the game too much and play pretty straight forward

    Will post the videos below

Brofist for LP, but can't follow since I'm not patient enough for video LP's :negative:

Me too, I liked ID the most from all IE games, but have no will to play again nor watch any LP. Sorry.
    And bump.

Pretty much. I've watched pieces of Let's Plays before but never full ones. Recording my playtime actually takes a lot less effort than writing a post-playtime write up of what I did.

I am watching (mostly listening to, actually) this when I am left alone at the office, but have to work (and therefore am unable to write my own LP).

I like your comparisons to PoE, but in the couple of episodes I have watched so far, there was barely any description of what you are doing - as if you were assuming the viewers already know the game (which makes them unlikely to watch the LP). Could use some more of that. Same with describing your party compositon and their abilities, how they are improved on level-ups, etc.

EDIT: As for weapon speed factor - yes, it does affect who attacks first in the round. Basically, the lower weapon speed factor is, the earlier in the round your attacks take place.

SECOND EDIT: I forgot how weirdly music in IWD works. You get those long periods of silence, then suddenly it strikes for a couple of minutes and then disappears again. You never get to really listen to it to get familiar with the tunes, as you do in Baldur's Gate 1&2.
I once modded Fallout 2 and inserted IWD music into it - it worked surprisingly well.

Well, congratulation. No matter that I didn't watched anything.
PS. play addons. Or sequel. Or start playing Heart of Fury mode.
