So how exactly does this work out when they have several clients in direct competition? Surely any business with integrity would recognize a clear conflict of interests here?

Lol viral marketers are OLD OLD news. There are probably some on this forum It is their job to post (not always marketing), gain trust, then start plugging projects as "just one of the fans".

Welcome to business and marketing ~_~ It is all about manipulation ~_~ At least when you get larger it becomes all about the $$$.

 

It's quite odd to see them so brazen about it though. You'd think buying advertising plants would be something reserved specifically for police states and corporations with actual money and power. Not something that any asshole can pick up a phone and get their own personal advertising pet.

 

Why? It is seen as simply another form of marketing. They were even teaching us about this in business school as internet age marketing options.

When you start to study marketing, you learn that it is all based around manipulation and tons of data into human behaviour and how to take advantage of it. That's why I couldn't go work for larger companies, the complete lack of morality in business that they were teaching turned my stomach ... I just wouldn't be able to succeed in an environment that demanded you exploit people.

 

I'm not questioning that it happens. I question that they don't even care that you know they are doing it. At least have some shame and hide that shit like a proper evil empire.

you do realise that capitalism = greed+exploitation. without them capitalism just would not work. self regulation and responsible business practices are all lies. imagine what banks would do if all regulations/restrictions were lifted... world economy would collapse in 3 years tops.
